Derek Barnett combine

I thought it would have been mentioned by now but didn't see it. Barnett's 4.88 compares quite favorably to another player with good college production that D4H downplayed, presumably due to measurables and his "eye for talent". That would be NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year Joey Bosa, who ran a 4.86.

Joey Bosa came in a weak draft class.

This years draft is way more loaded.

Bosa wouldn't be a top 10 pick this year.

So even in a weak class you still underappreciated the eventual DROTY. An odd thing for you to draw attention to but whatever.

In any case the point being made was anyone thinking Barnett's 40 time was any particular concern can take some solace in that it's obviously quick enough.

You can enjoy the fact that D4H is usually dead wrong when it comes to NFL players.

For some reason both Todd McShay & Mel Kiper in their mock draft 3.0 released today have Derek Barnett falling big time.

McShay has Barnett going late in the 1st round(28th-32nd) while Kiper has him going in the 20-25 pick range in round #1. What happened to a possible top 10 pick or at worst a top 15 pick? :hmm:

McShays draft predictions seem to be about 50% effort and 50% fill in the blanks just to get it done. They change all the time and rarely make sense.
