Defensive staff changes

You need to dive deeper. Half the sacks were not DL or in garbage time by backups against inferior competition in blowouts.
25 of 35 sacks were:
NM St
Arky (allowed 240 rushing yards)
Ms st (allowed 203 rushing yards)
UAB
Etsu
Syr

10 sacks vs:
Ill
Vandy
Florida
OK
Ky
Bama
Ga
Garner will be the line coach here as long as he wants.

Garner is retained and poor D line i wonder how many sacks his so called poor D line got this season.
Josephs was hurt a large part of the season and played through it. We had a few guys nicked up and still playing. That’s not an excuse but worth mentioning. I’m good with whatever Knowles decides to do but Garner has been one of the best position coaches in the nation for a great many years. If he’s let go he won’t be without a job long if he wants one. I would suspect wherever he goes will be much better on the dline fairly quick. Some other stuff off the field may also have factored in but I’m not going into that. I’m just saying if you have one of the best assistants at a position for several years maybe he’s allowed one mulligan. Again I’m good with whatever Knowles decides.

If I remember correctly in the Arky game, we had an 11 point lead in 3rd qtr and that mighty defense couldn't mange to hold that lead from an "anemic" Arky offense. Funny how you say our offensive stats were inflated by who we played, yet I provided you the rankings of all the teams offensive ranks our defense played but you say the defense was legit. I'm not saying our offense last year was a powerhouse but being ranked 14 is far from anemic, just like I think the defense last year was good, nowhere near elite.
He was a bag man...You get that talent then you become real good coach. Didn't look so hot this year, huh? In fact last year was the only year here that we had a good DL with him.... Because talent and depth.

Agree. I do have to remember we lost both our All Star Corner Backs to injury’s and our starter at the Star position and his mom decided that he was worth more than he was being paid. His played at less tha half speed until he was dismissed from the team. I believe that even Georgia and Ohio State would not have performed very well under those conditions. We will be better in 2026 even with a more difficult schedule. We have more talent, more experience and a much improved defensive scheme next year. The portal will help us at safety, running back, defensive line, quarterback, and likely offensive line. Cain’t wait for the 2026 season to arrive

Anti Garner stuff is wild and peak casual. There’s a reason he was the first announced retained staff member— because Jim Knowles is a championship DC and he wanted Garner to coach his vanguard. Says it all.
Two things can be true. Garner has in the past been a phenomenal coach and the DL underperformed this year. There can be factors involved out of his control especially injuries. I think he will right the ship personally.

I have been concerned for more than just this year with the lack of containment on the edges. I realize football has changed but some things will stand the test of time. I'm also concerned with the DL not maintaining their lanes, this has been the reason for running teams to gash us IMO, the team and or the players seem to only care about getting to the QB. It all starts with stopping the run and making a team one dimensional and we haven't seemed to be concerned at all for stopping the run game. I realize Garner has a reputation but the product hasn't seemed to live up to the hype. How many time have we had a running QB destroy the whole game plan? We try to rush the QB to stop it but that only allows lanes, haven't been happy with the scheme or the line play but I'm sure I'm in the minority. You can win games with pressure and no sacks but it's far harder to win games without maintaining your rush lanes and edge containment IMO.

A couple things from OK State booster who has some good ties to people close to Knowles.

Anthony Poindexter is definitely a possibility but described him as the #3 choice to work with safeties for Knowles. He said he isn't a Knowles guy but that they worked pretty well together last year overall. He said OSU safeties coach is the guy to watch. While he would be surprised he was told the possibility has moved from a 1% chance to a 50/50. If happening would be quickly as he eas given to end of day Friday to give Knowles an answer.

He expects at least a couple Knowles guys coming in in some capacity and to watch for Shane Eachus, Brent Zbenski, Dan Hammerschimt, and Tim Duffie as possible off field positions.

Mentioned OSU asst LB coach along with current Dolphins LB coach Matt O'Donnell as possible LB coach. He said Matt along with Brian Duker in Miami are possibilities but a lot depends on whether Dolphins HC is retained (as those guys have been mostly NFL guys but open to college) and that the timing would be tough as more CFB coaching staffs are getting settled and guys have to make decisions or risk being out of coaching a year

If true, I'm guessing Inge is gone?

So we are condoning people saying stupid $hit in public? The 1st amendment was created to limit Government suppression of speech and beliefs. It does not protect people from being ridiculed for saying stupid $hit. People should be shamed, like yall shame kickers. So boo him, and boo you too!
Booing and shaming. Nice job.
