I'm gonna try for the high ground here.....
There is, and will be for some time, a very sharp division among VN as to Fulmer's departure from UT. We all have our opinions, and we all tend to seek out the stats and raw data that supports our argument. Whether it's 152-52; or his record against Top 25 teams; or whatever...we all find a way to make our point.
None of that will change reality.
Fulmer is gone. He's not coming back, at least not as the head coach. He is a first-ballot CFHOF inductee. He won the first BCS NC. He lost the fanbase, and the support of those who pull the strings.
It is what it is.
I, for one, am going to do my best to avoid any more negative comments on Coach Fulmer, and any thread centered on "where we might have been if we had kept Fulmer". There's no point. Bitter grapes do not good wine make.
I was behind Kiffin, and in hindsight, that was just blind loyalty to UT. Now I'm behind Dooley, and in this case...having trusted once and been burned...I brought a more critical eye to the Dooley hire. But I have a feeling that we may have the right guy, and he may...will...restore the pride to UT Football.
Right or wrong, in the end, I'll always be a Vol fan.
Go Vols.
