Deal With It

Can someone post the link where it says Zo didn't turn Marquette down? I think "removing your name" is turning the job down. I'm confused

You're going to have to actually think about the situation. Why wouldn't he want to leave, especially for that job?

He obviously wanted the job or he wouldn't have interviewed for it. What sounds better? "I wanted the job and didn't get it" or "I'm pulling my name from consideration".

It's a political move.

So now the IT'S ALL YOUR FAULT crowd have to turn their guns on another target and now claim the right to license Vol fandom? Nuff dis crap! Let your Messiah build on his late season success and try to give real fans something stable/successful to root for...he doesn't need you howling and shaking the branches trying to own the program!

So in your opinion Marquette didn't want him? Got ya bro

You do know Martin took Maymon out after Michigan's first 2 possessions cause they went right to GR3 and he abused Maymon? Maymon can't sit the whole game and plus Reese and Moore were on GR3 the majority of the rest of the game. Moore did fine but Reese got abused. Also you say it took Zo till half time to get it together, but halftime adjustments are coaching. I'm not a big Zo fan but your posts have been stupid

Wasn't all about sitting or not sitting Maymon.

Not wrong at all. You don't offer Coach A a job, then interview Coach B the next day before Coach A gets back to you on it. What if both said "yes"

You conveniently skipped the part where they offer coach B. You said if a school offers a coach they stop interviewing. You can interview without offering.

If you think you have your guy, you give him a bit before you start interviewing someone else. So I honestly believe that he turned them down yesterday or they hadn't offered it yet and were going to make offers after all their interviews.

1. Like I said earlier, Martin wasn't doing anything differently during the tournament then he had the previously. Suspect coaching all the way through. UT got some favorable draws.

2. Those teams couldn't handle UT's inside game.

3. Michigan forces him to coach and it took him a half to adjust to something a child could see.

Wow...I cant resist. This is just too easy.

1. What do you call the last 6 games of the regular season in addition to the tourney? And are you not ignoring the magnitude of the wins? We didn't "slide by" Mercer and U Mass, we beat them by about 20 points each. Just like we beat Vandy by a record amount and a decent Missouri team by over 30 and a few other games I could point to. Was that "not coaching"? What about getting jobbed by the refs while tied with (likely champion) Florida in the SEC tourney? Did Martin "coach the refs" to make those ridiculous calls on McRae?

2. Michigan...ALSO had no inside game. LOL!

3. So Cuonzo was out there hitting 5 of the first 6 3-pointers that Michigan took? The whole story on Michigan Tennessee was that if Michigan got cold from outside, they lose. They were hot in the first half and cold in the second. Our gameplan didn't have **** to do with how well they shot...that's not something that can be controlled. Oh yeah, we might could have played better D, but the fact remains that Michigan is one of the best outside shooting teams in the country, period, dot. They won the Big 10 with only 3 conference losses for a reason...and they almost took down UK also...but...wait for it...they didn't shoot as well!

LOL...you're fun, but I really am out now.

"Might could have played better defense"

You don't say? Did the layup line they ran in the first half give you that inclination?

Mercer and UMASS weren't talented enough to hang with UT. Believe it or not UT had a really good team. They just vastly underachieved and played awful at times, they play like they're capable of in the last few games of the season. That type of play should have been the norm all along.

You mean the Michigan game where Cuonzo once again showed his close-game brilliance by having his PF handle the ball near the 3 pt line with ten seconds left? Yeah that sold me, too.

Dingbats such as yer own self don't find understanding. You interpret each situation only by your own dim lights.

Soooooo, you thought that was a well designed play?

I do. Who is the most for sure 2 pts on the team? Going to stokes and calling iso was a good call it just didn't work out. Stokes should have noticed the double coming and hit McRae for the open lane for a layup/ dunk

so Stokes 10-13 ft from the basket and the ball in his hands is a good ideal and a iso at that , is a good call ? you done lost your mind. the ball should of went to Mcrae or Rich. for a drive to the basket and Stokes under the basket for a put back incase of a miss.

Coulda woulda shoulda. If the previously mentioned play worked he is a genius. Since it didn't he is a psuedo genius.

Nothing "remarkable" about beating Umass and Mercer. 2.9 years of utter mediocrity then a kind draw and all of a sudden he's john wooden.

You guys are in for a rude awakening when he loses Pearl's recruits. Reality sets in next year. Enjoy it.

In regards to Bruce's recruits are you talking about McRae and Maymon. No disrespect but probably two of the most inconsistent players on the team. As far as who we beat in the tournament its not like we picked the teams we played. We beat the teams we had to and got to the Sweet Sixteen. Sure I wish we would have won the National Championship (as do fans of hundred other schools) but we didn't. We move on.

Inconsistent???

In 36 games this year Jordan was held under double figures only 4 times. He had 9 points in 3 of those games. In two of the 9 point games we won by an average of 22.5 points. That's rock solid consistency.

Jordan was going to score for us this year, night in and night out.

While Maymon isn't counted on to score much, he was under 5 rebounds in only two games this season and one of those was a blow-out of Georgia. He was held under 5 points in 3 games. In two of the three games he scored under 5 points, he had 9 and 10 rebounds respectively and one of those was the 72-45 win over Missouri.

He averaged 10/8 for a reason, because he was very consistent.

you just showed how you really don't have a clue.wasn't Mcrae up for SEC player of the year last year ? and led the team in scoring the last 2 years. Without Mcrae catching fire against Michigan Tn don't have a chance for the win in the closing minutes.

Many Cuonzoners toss the players under the bus, especially ones who played for Pearl. First it was Cam not improving. Then it was Golden not playing defense. Earlier this year Jordy was a team cancer. Now he and Maymon were inconsistent.
