DC Candidates?

Boys and girls I got some great news! And I am not talking about saving any money on any car insurance. This is a huge hire! We should have 2 signing day parties after this happens.

BOOM... this is what I've been waiting for... Thanks BurninOrange..

Many wondered if butch would make the moves to bring a national championship or be overly loyal. This should answer your question.

Exactly... I've learned to not doubt anything CBJ does, when he said he is the keeper of the program, everything he has done coincides with that thinking. I didn't doubt after the last few recruiting classes, how he steadily improved the program, and I won't doubt him over this... Thanks for the info you bring TS...

From Football Scoop

Mississippi State: Sources tell FootballScoop that there are other candidates; but Dan Mullen will not offer the defensive coordinator position to anyone else until Ed Orgeron tells him no.

Orgeron just asked, "Who is Dan Mullen?"

I guess it depends on the profession. Mine is 100% performance based compensation and the better, more skilled my employees are the more I make. Simple equation to me. I would think coaching would be similar. Main difference is I can be fired with no buyout lol.

Understand. I too am 100% accountable.I don't think we disagree much but I just would like some stability. I'm still butt-chafed from Kiffin and Dooley. Plus, I'm ancient.

I feel like this was always in the works to upgrade the staff but several pieces had to fall into place first. When butch arrived the AD was in the hole big time but given the recent success the bank account is getting full again. So now is what I call step 3 in the Butch Jones era, upgrade the staff to an elite level.

If we get Shoop, the fact he turned down LSU and Auburn but then chose us should make you very, very happy.

The only caveat with that is both of the head coaches are exactly on solid footing these days, where as CBJ is probably only behind Freeze and Saban in the solid footing category... That is a huge factor, but 1 recruits should also recognize...

If it is Shoop, it's the only time I can recall that one of VN's top candidates from the beginning of a search actually ends up being announced.

I was reading this on Tony Basilio's website. Thought it was interesting.

1. Tennessee IS willing to offer a multi-year contract (3 years).
2. Money is no object. Tennessee will go high (LSU range) for the right guy.
3. Bob Shoop is alive, but he's far from the only candidate.
4. Gene Chizik could be in it, but how do you sell this post-bowl game?
5. Could Brady Hoke be an off the radar candidate? Could happen.
6. Hoke and Jones have relationship, and he spent time here last summer.

One thing that might help with number 4 is if Chizik pulls out his two NC rings
