I know this info won't fit in the the conspiracy narrative, and I loves me a good conspiracy theory, but the new BOT cannot meet until July 1, 2018. This may have been sanctioned by soon to be former trustees as a parting shot.

Can someone provide insight as to how many times these types of scenarios play out at other major, public universities?

Am I the only one that is sick of all the drama that has been occurring at the U of TN over the last (5-10) years?

Could be. But unless Dipietro has lied in his letter of dismissal, for which there can be serious repercussions, she was not up the the job description of Chancellor of UTK many more important levels than whether she could pick the right Athletic Department Administrator who could run the department well and pick good coaches.

I read through the focus act and when the new board takes over July 1, they will no longer have authority to fire a chancellor as I read it.

I don't think DiPietro lied in his letter of dismissal at all. Every word of it is probably true. I just don't think it tells the whole story.

If Davenport, let's say, played nicer with important people, she'd still be there even with her supposedly awful communication and interpersonal skills.

the interwebs has provided the following for context:
Counting interims, since 2008, the U of TN has had (24) different football and mens' hoops coaches, AD's, presidents and chancellors. (Counting Fulmer and Simek twice since they held two different positions.

24 !!!

Maybe someday UT will hire the best qualified candidates instead of the best woman or minority or other quota candidate. Need to look at more than their sex or skin color.

They are usually posted up there by noon. Last Sunday still available. He talks about the BOT changes for about 5 minutes towards the end.

I get a lot of good info here and find time for these podcasts during the week sometimes.

I’m a realtor, and a lot of Sunday’s, I do open houses 2-4. I download the podcast and usually can get through it while doing the open. Just pause it when someone comes in.

I’m sure it will also be discussed on Ainge in the morning. (Wnml podcast). I also download this and listen during the day. They get most of their info from social media- so Mathews seems more credible. But Ainge has some callers that have info sometimes. Like here, some info questionable, but still it keeps you feeling like you have your finger on the Knoxville pulse when in fact you are so far away. I hate Alabama radio here. I’d be crazy if I didn’t have the internet to pull this audio.
