Yeah, the knight's armor and long sword carried me through the better part of the game. It was the first weapon I took to +10, once I realized big ass weapons were often too slow for the aggressiveness of many mid to late game mobs.

Hmm blue mini boss? What weapon did it use?

I'm going to go through again with different classes and focus on different builds but I liked the Knight so I went with it first lol.

It shot ice crystal things and mist I believe. Not sure if you'd consider it a mini boss but that's what I called it. I looked it up and think it was called a crystal lizard.

Ohhh yeah I forgot about that, my bad. The giant grown up crystal lizard at the very beginning. Yeah, it drops the gems needed to upgrade boss weapons, so try to kill all you can!

Made it to Vordt (sp?) of the Boreal Valley. First half of the fight I owned him. Then he started dashing around and owned me.

I'm in the undead village. Man there are too many paths to take. I am spending hours just trying to see where they all lead. I don't want to miss anything. Great game.

Yeah, I'm glad they brought back the branching paths that unlock shortcuts. DS2 was missing that element.

I quit playing awhile and came back to it. Said I'll try him once then get another player to help if he still gives me trouble. I beat him first try and only used one flask. Lol. Just had to take a few and come back. I shot arrows from a distance at his hard to reach places once I got that far and after a few hits each one deals 880 damage when it explodes.

My problem was I kept destroying his "eggs" until I got his health down to about 25% then I had no idea where to hit him. I didn't realize you have to attack the arm.

Bummer. I did the side quest where you jump halfway down the elevator shaft when you hear Siegward say "Hmm". Then you help him fight a fire demon. I killed it, but he died so I don't get the gestures he offers or get to see him for the rest of the game.

Ah that sucks. His toast gesture is cool. How did he die? He usually tanks that fight every time I've done it.

Yeah he was doing great. All the sudden he got close to the edge of the cliff and the thing breathed fire towards him and I see him go off the side of the cliff. I was like you have to be kidding me. On the plus side it spawned his items on the edge where he was when he fell. His gear is great.

That will do it. Yeah, I've always enjoyed the goofy look of the Catarina set.

Never played these games before. Any tips will be greatly appreciated. I've been reading all the tips so far.

Help me die less.

On my way home to play now

The best advice I can give you is that every enemy is a threat. No matter how weak, no matter how many of them you've slashed through, at any given time any one of them can kill you. Take every single one of them seriously.

Yep. Respect everything. I have an end game level 120 that got curb stomped by a group of enemies near the beginning that I thought I could run past.

Don't spread your levels too thin across too many stats. Definitely focus on Vigor and Endurance to up your health and stamina (the green bar is just as important as that red bar). I'd roll a knight if this is your first time. Then focus on either strength for big heavy hitting weapons or dexterity for small faster weapons. Or raise both equally for a "quality build" that can use some of both weapons and still deal out damage. Don't worry much about attunement, intelligence, faith, or luck. Vitality only if you want to carry big weapons and wear heavy armor. Use your shield! Explore everywhere. You will die. A lot. Don't give up! It will eventually "click" and you'll be kicking ass.

Beat the Crystal Mage and unlocked the bonfire to the Farron Keep. Then I back tracked and went to the Cathedral of the Deep. Whew, this is a hard area. All these dual sword wielding girls that inflict bleeding mess you up. I end up running past them. I unlocked the Rosaria bonfire then went down and accidentally got killed by one of those Giants.

I beat bloodborne but haven't played any of the dark souls games. Am I good to still get this and understand everything?
