Da'rick Rogers

Good talent. Will never be as good as Hunter. His biggest memories will be in meaningless games against people like Vandy and UK, which by they way he disappeared in one of those this year.

Hunter (Career) 33 rec. 729 yds 9 tds.

Rogers (Career) 78 rec. 1207 yds 11 tds.

Rogers already is better than Hunter. Granted Hunter had more explosive ability then Rogers, but Rogers could do something last year Hunter could not......catch a 12 yard pass (with no defensive contact) and NOT blow his knee out.

If Rogers' head is in the game, and he is team oriented, he will be a beast. If Hunter can come back as good as he potentially was going to be last year, and stay healthy the duration of the season, the stats will be comparable, with him having a higher yards/catch than Rogers, but at this point numbers don't lie and Rogers has him beat across the board.

There's really no such thing as double coverage until the ball is in the air. It's always a matter of whether there is help inside or over the top.

Never said that wasn't true. Most teams put their best corner on Darick and be done with it when they played UT. He made some players look silly like Tyrann Matthieu, but some did a really good job.

Alabama runs a different offense than Chaney. Chaney's number 1 goal is to pass the ball. Their gameplan was to get Darick open. Thats why Darick had better stats. I think the hail mary was a play action (Im not 100% on that) but I know there was no reciever near him at all.

He isn't that great against man coverage at all. Most recievers aren't. Thats what makes Hunter and Woods so dominating. The best UK corner manned up Darick in the second half and completely shut him down. Their coach said it was surprising how easy it was.

Julio didn't play well as Soph. even Bama fans will you that(I would know staying down here). Remember how Patrick Peterson was taking all of his lunch money in that game with they were both second year players. He dropped a bunch of passes. And they get the ball to elite guys at WR. Against us he had 6 catches for around 49 yards with Rogan checking him. Then his junior year they aired us out with him while we were playing the world famous Wilcocks zero coverage with bad CBs.

You really think with our total lack of a running game and no deep threat on the other side that DR was seeing a lot of zero coverage?

That comment about Hunter was so not needed. Hunter has less than half the amount of receptions but is only two TDs short. And Hunter has caught more than 1 ball and not gotten hurt. Hunter has been more productive from the get go when it comes to numbers sir.

So your saying Wes Welker isn't a game changer because he dropped that Super Bowl pass from Brady? Rogers is a game changer. He put up 1,067 yards being doubled and tripled all year. 67 catches against the toughest defenses anybody will play against. Rogers is a stud. Hunter is a stud. Together they couldn't be stopped. Only one of them on the field, it's much easier to manage.

No, Welker is a great game changer. Every Giant player should give him some cash for the way he changed that game.

DR is good, JH is better.

You're looking at it from a "team" perspective, when the argument is about whether Da'rick is a great player.

Da'rick is a great player. That's really it...

Yes the stats are meaningless in the grand scheme, but were talking about how good Da'rick is. And he is Damn good. Agree or Disagree on that?

I agree he is good. He is a physical freak on the college level. But his head is in the clouds and/or he isn't bright enough to see the big picture. He needs a guy like JH much more than a guy like JH needs him.

Not sure how you can really say that right after DR just got done getting 1,000 yards without JH.

I says it fairly easily GA. Think JH has 1 more TD in about 9 less games over their careers here. JH stays healthy and their careers will bear it out over college and pro. I hope both stay healthy though. It will be interesting to see.

Also, I think you could see the utter deflation in the team at the UF game when Hunter went down. Don't think you get the same deflation if that had been DR.

Yea he only had about 500 recieving yards, but they could rely on someone else. We had to rely on Darick. If Bama had to rely on Julio, we would have gotten better numbers.

Im not knocking Darick at all. He is an amazing reciever and will go down as a great one here at UT, I just dont feel his skill set is a first rounder.

He still has to get open even if they did have to rely on him. Which is even more impressive considering he was our only option. Defenses keyed on him all year, they won't be able to do that next year.

I bet this is allvol's girlfriend. It would explain a lot.
Amirite?

Let me see.

Another one that has had his feelings hurt. So, he uses a decision DR made (DR is the guy he has his feelings hurt about because I don't think he is the greatest ever) as an attempt at insulting me. Pure brilliance in defending the guy you have had your feelings hurt over.

You do realize "right" really isn't harder to spell than "rite", right? Or shortening it from 5 letters to 4 is a critical step in the hectic pace known as your life?

Colston was drafted so late because he went to hofstra (division I AA). And I think all three of them are considered possession receivers who have the ability to make big plays. Similar to Rogers who did catch a few bombs this year if you have forgotten.

Colston was drafted late because he was a tight end.

Add the Matt Simms factor in there as well. 1000 yards is a miracle.

I just showed you the numbers....he got injured....thats a fact.....I am a big fan of Hunter, but saying he is better (which includes durability, sorry but it does) is a bit absurd. Hunter is a better leader, and when healthy more explosive, I conceded that. but the numbers were listed, and Rogers has him beat. Next year the numbers are going to be similar, with Hunter having more yards per catch.

Why is it that every time I watch Rogers I think of T.O.
A lot of similarities.

I kinda see alot of Anquan Boldin in him. And personally I think DR, JH, and CP could all be 1st to 3rd rd picks in the 2014 draft. Hopefully they all stay because this could be a special group.

Colston was drafted late because he was a tight end.

Colston played receiver in college. Some though he may switch to tight end in the NFL because he is 6'5 and 230 lbs but obviously that didn't happen. Both him playing at a division I-AA school and his future position being unclear contributed to him being taken so late. Which is why where he was selected has no bearing on where Rogers will be.
