Most of these stories have been percolating around Knoxville for awhile now.

There was even a major article that slammed the overall culture at UT under Jones after last season by Travis Haney.

The Bowles stuff goes back to last Spring.

The Crowder incident was reported in 2015.

Jones was called out for lying about his commitment to Cincinnati in 2012 in USA Today.

Helm and his family moved on and put the situation in their rear view mirrors. Getting a degree from Duke and playing under a better coach was probably a priority for them more than taking a parting shot at Jones, who has proven to be plenty petty in his time here. He did it just last week with the Mays family.

I don't know if you got cut off once from one of these radio call in shows and are ticked off over it, but give it a rest that none of this stuff has come to light until Jones was fired. It's not remotely accurate.

Saying too much while he is still your coach is very close to crapping in ones own bed isn’t it?!?

I believe a great deal will start to leak. I am a little worried that there are so many skeletons in butchs closet that tripping over them may prevent his next hire. This is not in the universities best interest, as Him getting hired helps lessen our buyout.

I was talking about Helms parents whose motivation seems to be protecting their son. You seemed to be calling out (my apologies if I misinterpreted)... Wasn't talking about your issues with media figures that do what media figures do.

Butch is a grown man who is responsible for his actions and what has happened to him here. I'm sure he doesn't need you to defend his honor.

Im mainly talking about families and media. If they knew kids were being "abused" and did nothing they are cowards.

What we will see now is one sided stories when we all know the truth usually lies in the middle. Generally, small details are left out of stories that changes your perception.

BJ was Teflon man. How many public incidents were mentioned and all defended him... The AD and administration were complicit. As long as the wins were coming no one wanted to hear it.. The kids that left did not want to be poison that other schools didn’t want... Yeah it’s a shame that the other adults covered for him..

This needs to come out so other schools considering him for his next job will know the truth of what he is...

Uh, Helm's dad reached out to Basillio and confirmed the story and how big a POS Butch was and is.

This story has been discussed for close to 2 weeks now, not after the Jones firing today as is being portrayed as "sour grapes" and "cowardly" in this thread.

Acting like this is brand new and none of this negative stuff was being said about Jones prior to this afternoon is just false.
