This is my stance on this subject spelled out to those who like to jump to conclusions-
While I don't think losing these players is the end of the world, I don't see it as a good thing either. As has been stated by others here, we are on the ground floor of the rebuilding process in the toughest conference in college football. At this point any attrition is a hit to that process and sets us back in a competition with programs that just keep getting stronger. Yes, it's true that our rivals all deal with the same thing but they are better equipped to deal with it than we are at this time. In order to catch up in the race we need these defections to lower.
Where my problem lies in this debate is with the ones who immediately go on the attack of anyone who shows concern. We all want this staff to be the one to turn things around and they have shown promise of this in some areas. There are areas that need improving and that's where these debates stem from. Yet, whenever these debates come up, some people get all worked up and start calling for fan cards. Believe it or not, it is possible to support a coach and still question some things about him. I like Jones over all and really hope he does get it, but chanting "Butch gets it" over and over won't make it happen if he's not the one.
The label "negavol" is given to anyone being negative, but I think it should only be given to the trolls on this board (yes, there are those few on the board who don't want to see Tennessee succeed, and they consider themselves "fans"). Having concerns about the team is fine (It's part of being a fan), but if someone's post history is filled with negative comments (even when things are going good) and won't give credit to the team or staff for doing something good, they are the real "Negavols".
