Dan Mullen or Greg Schanio? Now Currie's targets

Yeah, recruits like the easygoing touchy-feely approach of guys like Nick Saban.

Lol Butch will look good to you as soon as Schiano gets in here trust me. No question Mullen of the two but Schiano shouldn’t even be in the top 10 on the list. Miles should be our floor.

And they wanted him at Florida OVER DAN MULLEN

And they KNEW DAN MULLEN AT FLORIDA FROM BEING THE OC FOR A NC!

What's that tell you about Dan Mullen?

It tells me UF's AD has been incompetent for years. Shark boy, Muschamp, Zook....luckily for them Urban was friends with the President or they wouldn't have landed him.

Hogwash. Currie made it clear info that doesn't come directly from him doesn't deserve consideration. Just another so called media source speculating.

See results at TB!?

Looks very similar to Nick Saban's at Miami doesn't it.....

Both turned around loosing programs too

Saban's looked better prior to Miami & that's just because he was at LSU in the SEC with those resources.

Schanio did the same at Rutgers just the lack of $$ and commitment to football caused him to peak where he did...

He got the Tampa Bay job based on how like Saban he is an amazing college coach who can build a winning program anywhere!

No! If we can't get a proven winner at the FBS level like Chip Kelly, Scott Frost, or Gary Patterson, I would rather us hire a proven champion at the FCS level like Mike Houston as opposed to hiring someone whom we know can't win a championship based on their prior body of work at an FBS school like Mullen or Schiano. At least with Mike Houston, we would have hope that he could get us to an SEC or national championship as opposed to Mullen or Schiano who will at best get us to the Citrus Bowl. There's also the precedent set by Jim Tressel, which also demonstrates that it is possible for a championship level FCS coach to come in and win championships in the FBS.

Some of you seriously didn't get how good of a job he did at Rutgers, what an amazing recruiter he is, and most importantly for Tennessee he puts a priority and pride in winning and understands how to change a loosing culture to a winning culture.

He turned Rutgers into a feared program with him as head coach.....

Imagine what he could do with Tennessee's resources, $$$$, and drive to win.

Schiano was one game over .500 at Rutgers and they weren't even in the Big Ten then so their schedule was much easier. This would be almost like hiring Dooley all over again. We don't need more mediocrity. We need a winner.

i love how when shciano is considered, the context of rutgers being awful all the sudden matters. but with Mullen, it's "he just sucks".:eek:lol:

Mississippi State wasn't an awful program.

They have played in SEC championship games!!!

Rutgers averaged 3 wins a season for decades before Schiano got there.

think you need to do some research on rutgers football before and after schiano and thatll answer your question.

could say the same on MSU football and Mullen.

and there's nothing close to Bama, LSU, Auburn and LSU, and their national titles and top 10 recruiting classes, in what was formally the big east.

negative. they played in 1. in 1998, 20 years ago when the SEC W was what is now the SEC E.

i guess MO is a great program too? they won two SEC E titles in a row.....wanna sell me on how elite they are????

Once agin they were awful at Rutgers!

He lost games for a few years to get the culture changed to a winning culture and took a few years to recruit his whole team..... damm

I remember watching the amazing turnaround, plus Urban Meyer thinks he is a top notch coach.

Mullen is such a great coach why couldn't he match or better the success that ole miss has had vs Bama?

you're just copying and pasting my posts from one of the other mullen threads, and just changing Mullen to Shciano and MSU to rutgers.
