Da Reds thread

I'd like to see how well a Reds lineup would do with an inconsistent Jay Bruce and steadily declining Brandon Phillips as your 3-4 hitters.

Yes. Reds next year without Choo and Votto, plz.

no sign choo to replace ludwick. trade votto to blue jays for jose reyes. plenty of free agent first basemen out there. move billy into center field. do all this and let arroyo go and you can save money. jocketty has to be the most overpaid GM in the game. the team is easy to fix if they would just make the moves and get rid of toothpick. booby and jock strap are not in it to win it all they are happy with the results as long as they are making money. pretty sure next year will be the same lackluster team that we saw this year. need to hire away all of ST.LOUIS brain trust. there is a reason they let jock walk folks.

Hahahahaha. Enjoy Reyes and his missed 30-40 games on the DL a year.

save 12 million in cash and get a great ss. hell yes.

You are making too much sense for this crowd.

The manager, GM and CEO allowed one of highest paid players in MLB history to become a top OBP guy, and then gloat about it to the fan base. While his team lost game after game because he would not focus on knocking in runs.

You are on pace for a 90 win season, just to let you know. You act like you have this albatross contract and are losing 90 games.

Agree the injury bug has hit him a few times, but 5 of his seasons were fully played including last year. He doesn't bring the OBP, but he puts the ball in play better without all of the SO's. He or Cozart could move to third and bring in a decent guy for first with cash left over. Keep Frazier for his utility play in both the infield and OF.

Reyes is 31 years old, has a bad injury bug, signed for big bucks for four more years, and is not the player from 2011. Reyes is not a good option.

If you guys didn't see the reds lost yet again. Unfortunately, at this point I'm not surprised.

Most reds fans struggle with numbers, see Joey Votto for example

What am I missing? The fact that this is the first non losing season for the pirates in several decades. Have you forgotten that already of am I just misunderstanding the newfound cockiness? But srsly congrats on doing well this year. They played lights out all year and I hope they beat the cardinals if the beat us in the wc game.

Votto - better OBP, runs scored
Freeman - better BA, RBI (36 more), SLG

Defense - Freeman 4 less errors and we know JV got some friendly scoring decisions or it would not have been that close.

Both are key players on playoff teams.

Votto: 2013 comp is $18.9 million
Freeman: 2013 comp is $560,000

Rest my case until 2014. It is what it is.

And to keep Freddie freeman past his control years I hope we only have to pay him 18.9 million dollars.
