Da Reds thread

this team can't make any progress. it is like beating a dead horse, but something has got to happen roster wise.

Janish or Renteria should be gone last month. No reason Cozart shouldn't be up yet. A competent shorystop would help immesely. Janish has turned into a joke on offense and defense, and Renteria is basically the same.

I never really understood why we picked up renteria in the first place. We could have probably kept cabrera and been better off than we are right now.

Yasmani Grandal will be promoted to AA after he plays in the high A All-Star game. He has been hitting very well.

.296/.410/.510/.920

It is very nice to have 2 catchers mashing the ball in the minors.

the f'ing peg legs are ahead of us in the standings now. this team needs to wake up already. if stubbs needs some time in the minors so be it. a serios reality check needs to happen for these guys. i realize there is a lot of season left, but there are quite a few teams in our division who feel the same exact way, and they are currently ahead of us in the win/loss column.

Next 10 games will give a pretty good window into where this team is going.

Yep. Take 2 of 3 from the Indians this weekend and spend next week playing for first place. Another poor week and the Reds start looking like a one hit wonder.

This team's young core is positioned to contend for the forseeable future. I'm not worried about last year being an aberration. That said, it's time to see if Cozart, Sapplet, Alonso, and Frazier can sink or swim. Going into 2012 with the same question marks at short and in left isn't an intelligent option.

I think the first three will all be solid to good major leaguers. I am much less confident in Frazier, although he could just be a late bloomer. None of them have much left to prove at the minor league level though, and Alonso's defense simply cannot be worse than Gomes' in left.

bleh, doesn't look like 2 of 3 is going to happen...but you never know. this is what expectations do, set us up for disappointment lol. hopefully they can get it together, and I agree with hat, this team is capable of contending for the next several years.

I think you could throw 3rd in as well. I love Rolen, but I'm not sure he's capable of contributing what we need.

So, after all the **** baseball the Reds have played in the last two months, they are two games out of the Central lead with 3@StL and 4@Mil this week. Yes ladies and gentlemen, if the reds win their next two series, it is highly probable that they take the division lead into the all star break
