Da Reds thread

Did you get to watch? I'm interested to see if he looked as good as his line does.

I didnt tune in until after he was out, however, they were still raving about it, and his stuff looked really good on the postgame highlights they showed. Guys on RedReporter said he was nasty as well.

Also, Jay Bruce is getting hot, and if its anything like when he finally flipped the switch last year, he is going to have a monster year

i did not get to watch today, but it was nice to see bruce and hanigan both have a great day at the plate. we finally got some much needed production from both those spots in the lineup.

Bruce just sent one way deep to right off Garza. He is in the groove.

Bailey may have learned how to pitch. Dude looks really good tonight and pitched well in his last outing. That said, it is the Astros

and gomes has not....... shouldn't there be a point rather quickly, when gomes' batting average is so low that he is no longer useful as a big league player at this level. guy has average defense and he is sitting below the mendoza line. heisey please stand up.

It's simple. If Volquez can't learn to throw pitches over the plate, he needs to be in the pen until he does. There is no reason to let this guy continue to spot the other team two or more runs

Dusty kills me. Bruce was 1-20 against Wandy coming into today. After a weak grounder and a K he is now 1-22. Why not start Heisey? I don't get it.

Heisey. PH Bomb. Again, good thing we started Bruce. I'm guessing that's the first time Hesiey has faced Wandy and guess what? He's now got the same amount of hits against him that Jay does.

i don't want to be too rough on gomes' because i do admire his hustle and competitve nature. if only he actually had the talent to be a productive ball player at this level. but i also admired how rosales hustled when he was with the reds, but in general he stunk it up. so i guess my point is hustle and trying hard is not enough to justify gomes being the starting leftfielder. his slumps last months on end and when he does get hot it only lasts a few days. guy has got to get it together and find a new approach at the plate or find a new home. there is talent in the waiting.

got to hand it to renteria as well. his last 2 ab's were huge, especially the last one. big win. we need more of those the next couple of weeks.
