People seem to ignore the fact that the SEC was awful, that team finished 19-15 with losses to absolutely terrible teams. Not moderately bad teams, completely terrible ones.
The ability to misstate and distort facts is amazing. Outside of UTEP, who did we lose to that was "terrible"? NC State and Xavier both made the tourney (Ironically they both played each other in a play in).
Wichita State? No. 1 seed.
Kentucky and Florida (four total losses) In the Final Four, nuff said
Missouri? Finished with 23 wins, was projected to be third in the conference, and won a game in the NIT
Vandy...could be called terrible...but they are an in-state rival and we lost in Nashville
Texas A&M...I would say they are below average, but not "terrible" but yes, we did lose two close games to them and should not have.
So that's three, maybe four teams we lost to, and I would only call Vandy "terrible". Because I just looked UTEP up, and they won 23 games and went to some sort of postseason tourney.
In fact, the only team that did not go to some type of postseason tourney (Tamu went to the CIB) was Vandy, and as I say, they are an in-state rival.
How do you get from ONE terrible team that's an instate rival to "all those terrible teams we lost to"?
Apparently by not bothering to do any research at all. But hey, whatever floats your boat. You believe it, so it must be true! :birgits_giggle:
