so you did 10 deadlifts and jumped the tire once or 10 times, then moved to 9 deadlifts and 9 tire jumps, etc?

Started out 1 lift and 10 jumps and went all the way until I did 10 lifts and 1 jump! My cardio is in bad shape!

I've heard of crossfit, never tried it though. I found this awesome group here in denver that is pretty similar. It's a 3 hour free bootcamp held 3 days/week. Wednesday nights in downtown denver and saturday and sunday mornings at red rocks amphitheatre - which I'm convinced there isn't a more beautiful place for a workout.

If anyone is ever in the Denver area you should hit it up. It's absolutely brutal but it's free, you don't have to stay for the the whole three hours, and you can make it as hard as you want it be- as long as you give everything a shot. I've been going since March, I try to go twice a week, and it never gets easier. The website is It Burns Joe Fitness. It's awesome!

No 135 is just what I used. Depends on your fitness level. I'm pretty sure that some folks go in there and just use their body weight.

I was pretty sore this morning. I went about 15 minutes early, to get some extra stretching in. Still sore now, especially my hamstrings and quads!

That blows! I get 5 days of fundamentals for free! Then if you want to join its a 3 month contract at $100 a month. Then you go month to month after 3 months @ $100.

P.S. I get a dicount for being in the medical field, so mine goes down to $75 a month.

Thought I would put this here for people interested in crossfit, so you can kind of compare prices.

I also weighed today- 210. I'm 6'0

Figured I will post up my weight so everyone can see how I'm progressing! I'm sure I'll shed fat until I get down to about 195 then hopefully putting on some good lean muscle weight! We'll see how it goes! Should be interesting!

Rowing machine, kettle ball throws, and squats onto a 15# medicine ball. 10 minutes straight. This was Thursdays WOD.

I would do 10 calories on rowing machine, then go to kettle ball and do 10 reps, then 10 squats on the medicine ball.

I actually dedicated 30 days to CF to see what all the buzz was about. I like a lot of the exercises, but I personally do not like the idea/theory of it.
I like the explosion aspects, and many of the compound joint exercises that CF utilyzes, but I think it lacks provisions for particular muscle groups.
I train 4-5 days a week, and usually write my own routines, using periodization, and changing everything every 6-8 weeks.
I started out at 208 with ~9-9.5% body fat, after a solid 30 days of CF, I was 190 and ~8% bf. What I did not like about it was the lack of emphasis on chest and arms. My back, shoulders, and legs all seemed to handle the weight loss well, but my arms and chest lost a lot of size!! My cardio was not any better, b/c I do cardio all the time.
What did occur tho, was I hurt my achilles from all the box jumps, and explosive exercises, and had to cut way back on the cardio. That was toward the end of the 30 days tho, so I did not lose out really on that aspect.
I am now back to my normal thing, and working on rebuilding the lost mass in my chest and arms, all while maintaining the rest of my body.
I did max squat during my CF experiment too, and got 470 as a 1RM, so that was good!!
Overall, I think it's ok if you want to get "fit", build functional strength, and create muscular and cardio endurance!!
I'm 32, married and have 3 kids now, and wonder why in the hell I do any of anymore tho??

With Crossfit you lose weight early on with it and then start gaining after you cut fat. You are working your chest and arms with crossfit. You do a lot of cleans, presses, push ups, and pull ups. You aren't going to be a body builder with it by any means, but you will put on mass where you want it.

I'm already lean, 180 at about 5'11. Trying to put on a little, but I'm going to give this a try.

Even when you lose weight you will look bigger. I started at 163. I went down to 152 and now I'm up to 170. My Chest and shoulders got really wide so even at 152 I didn't look that small. I'm only 5'10'' though.
