Crossfit

Started crossfit last Oct. Good stuff.

Lately we've been going through the 2012 Crossfit Open wods. Today's was:

15 Box Jumps (24/20)
12 Push Press (115/75)
9 Toes to Bar

As many rounds and reps as possible in 18 minutes.
 
hey guys, figured with the Open going on I would try and revive this thread. Anyone competing?

13.1 was a mf'er. I scored 158, so that's 8 snatches at 165#. Currently sitting at 271 of about 4600 in the Southwest region.

How are you guys doing?
 
I got 109 on 13.1. finished the second set of burpees with about 8 on the clock, could only get 9 snatches @ 135 in that 8 min. just a lot of weight for me to snatch.
The best score at our box was 158.
I think they were trying to thin out the field with the first work out, should be interesting to see what is announced tonight.

Had 110 on 13.1. But it was modded a bit with a little less weight. I'm still working on my form on pulling from the floor. Mostly keeping my back flat/straight.
 
I'm doing 13.2 in about a half hour. for those that haven't seen it:

10 minute amrep
5 shoulder to overhead @ 115#
10 DL @ 115#
15 24" Box jumps

I'm shooting for 300, so 10 full rounds. I'll post my score when I get back.
 
WOD 13.2, my goal was 200 reps, i ended up with 180 reps. Push presses were tough once i got fatigued, box jumps were mentaly taxing, switched to step ups in round 4.
 
13.2 in about an hour for me.

Shoulder to overhead is just push press?

it's however you want to do it (strict press, push press, push jerk, split jerk). I got 258 yesterday, was shooting for 300... going to try again at in a couple of hours. the workout is basically 10 minutes of box jumps. that's what makes or breaks this workout.
 
brb curling the bar when there are about 20 other spots in the gym....drives me crazy.

Seriously. My friend was a personal trainer there and we were working out together one day. We were doing circuits of 10 squats, then farmer's carry around the gym. Come around after a lap to see some doucgebags had taken the squat bar and stripped it down in the 30 seconds it took me to do a lap. It was BS. He yelled at them pretty good.
 
@CrossFit: The triathlete, cyclist, and marathoner are often regarded as among the fittest athletes on earth. Nothing could be farther from the truth.

Uh... nothing like inflating the ego to invite more people to drink the Kool-Aid.
 
How'd everyone fair on 13.3?

12 MINUTE AMREP
150 wallballs
90 dus
30 mus

I scored 250 (10 mus). Muscle ups are not my strong suit so I was pretty pleased with my score.
