Crompton bandwagon alive once more

"I'll never leave the University of Tennessee,'' he said. "When you are faced with adversity, your true character shows.''

Nice...........

So you want a wishy-washy QB?

Funny you derived that from the above reply.....

I don't want a QB that’s cocky when he has no reason to be cocky. He SUCKED and he was outspokenly confident that he's the guy? Based on what? Shut up and PROVE you’re the guy. The kool-Aid must be free refills or something...

I liked the quote too. The fact that he still clearly loves the University despite all he's been through says a lot. I was critical last year too, with reason, but I never booed. Booing your own player who gives it his all everyday is completely classless. They need our support.

I think Crompton has all the talent, I just don't know if he is capable of getting the reads down and keeping his nerves in check. That will determine a lot. It is also a much different situation than 1998, b/c Tee and the receivers (Price, Copeland) had been in the same system for a few years before 98.

#1,

Your perceived "realisim" has become all the more negative over the course of your short tenure here. Might I suggest one of the other available 119 teams to be a "#1" fan of.

In short your Crompton bashing festival lasted about 2 posts longer than it should and you have currently voiced and re-affirmed your stance on the matter at hand in every possible thread. We get it.

You're the one that brought me up in this thread..... So I’m supposed to stand in the shadows of Volnation.com with my opinions holstered while you speak for me? That makes sense...

I don't know where all this '98 talk is coming from but it's ridiculous. The talent on that team was unbelievable. 1998 Vol Roster

Someone mentioned Tee Martin, but they might have been talking about 1999 with Sanders as OC. That's a better comparison than 98, but I think the 98 & 99 systems were very similar (and yes, both had a heckuva lot of talent).

This is a good time to remind everyone that we have an ignore feature on VN that makes your time here more enjoyable. Short of that, take the personal issues to PMs.:hi:

Seems to be there was a dig at Coleman in that article. Can't believe the Chattanooga boys weren't here to defend.

We lost to LSU because the defense couldn't get off the field on 3rd and even 4th down (sound familiar?).

We lost to Arkansas because we couldn't tackle Darren McFadden.
I really don't want in on this battle but Crompton's stats were horrible in both those games, save the TD/Int ratio.

I was just saying that the defense had more to do with why we lost those games than Crompton. I don't think we would have won either game with Ainge either, but we'll obviously never know.

Yes. If you don't want to read my stuff, you don't have to. I try to bring you the insider stuff I think you would want to know, be it good or bad, an inject my perspective and opinion based on my knowledge of the situation and experience.
I'm not always right -- I just think I am.
