Countdown to Armageddon II

In 1940 the Vols won their 4th straight TSIO, went 10-0, were crowned conference champs, and were voted national champs by some polls, but not the AP.

1948 was not a banner year for the Vols. Finishing 4-4-2 overall, and 2-3-1 in the SEC (8th place:rolleyes:). The upside... The Vols earned another victory on the TSIO :).

In 1950, Tenessee won the TSIO, posted a 11-1 record, and were co-National Champs. Not only did they defeat B*** and Texas, but they also handed a Bear Bryant coached #3 Kentucky squad their only defeat that year.

83 Days Hank Lauricella

1951... WHAT A YEAR for Tennessee football! The Third Saturday in October was the first ever nationally televised game for both teams and the victors were clad in Big Orange! Tennessee went on to win their first ever undisputed National Championship in 1951.

#79 Doug Atkins

1952 saw the Vols go 8-2-1. In the win column was a 20-0 thumping of the other team on the TSIO.

A monster of a man at 6'8", he came to UT to play basketball. However, upon seeing his size and agility, Coach Neyland brought Doug Atkins into the football fold and the rest is history. He is a member of both the CFB and NFL HOFs.

10 more days until TSIO

Today I listened to a B***** fan on the Paul Finebaum show explain why B***** lost to aTm and I quote: "If Saban would stop doing those live AFLAC commercials during the game and pay more attention to the team, we'da won!"

👀

That all I got to say about that.
