Below is the 1914 team photo. This team won the TSIO, brought home the first conference championship, and on this team was a man named Nathan Dougherty who, in later years, hired General Neyland as the head coach.

In 1929 the Vols went 9-0-1. Put another win in the TSIO column. The General led them to 8 shutouts in his 4th Season as the HC. Gene McEver was an All American.

126 Beattie Feathers

In 1931 Tennessee won its 5th TSIO enroute to a 9-0-1 season. The Vols were the only blemish on the red teams record that year.

123 Herbert "Deke" Brackett QB

Once again, 1932 brought about familiar results. The team won the TSIO while posting a 9-0-1 record that earned them a share of the SOCON Championship.

116 Bob Suffridge

The Vols finished 1938 11-0. Not only did they win the TSIO and the conference, but also went on to be the National Champs that year.

The year that was 1939... Tennessee won the TSIO for the third time in a row - SCHWEET! Once again conference champs with a regular season of 10-0 with their opponents collectively scoring Zip, Zero, Nada. "Grand pa, tell me bout the good 'ol days!"
