Fact is recruiting is a dirty business, Pruitt was a dirty coach, Nieds was going to cheat or be replaced with someone who would. And honestly Pruitt was just doing the same thing he did at Georgia, Bama, and FSU.

I have really nothing against the guy unless he hurts Tennessee bc of what went down here.

You mean mad about being let go like the entire staff at the time? For violations that still hang over our heads because of him and the entire staff? Hope not.
Didn't he coach TE?
Is he that petty? Hope not, but what is really going to say? We loved him when he was here.

We used to love the Nieds as he was one of our best recruiters (or doordasher😆) under Pruitt. For those who didn't know, he is now the DC at IMG Academy, which produces top talent annually and currently has 2 highly coveted Vol targets. Let's hope he's not sour about what happened here and that he wont be steering players away from us.

Why Tennessee could suddenly have an issue landing 2 of their top 2023 recruiting targets
I'd hope that the players would visit campus and then give Coach Heupel his staff and players would sell them on playing at UT.

So, some of you don't happen to see how an NIL entity could toss cash at high school coaches for a coveted recruit or two? With as much talent as IMG brings in, there's a chance Nieds and that entire staff down there will make more than some assistants in the SEC to help swing a player here or there.

Who is to say Tennessee didn't make some recommendations for him to get that job and he is actually receiving additional pay? LOL

Honestly does it matter?

It's one school (Academy). And a great deal of those players seem to peek at high school 🙄.

They started football in 2010. They've put 12 players into the NFL. it's 2022. So 1 player per year average. Ultra impressive for even schools like DeLaSalle or St Thomas Aquinas. Impressive right?
Except IMG floods their roster with 4 and 5 stars every season...
I dare say they've underachieved at their stated objectives so far.

Clemson and Alabama have won National Championships without one single IMG player significantly impacting their seasons.

We're only taking 20 HS recruits from now on anyway....leaving 5 for Transfer portal incoming.

Revenge doesn't look good on a resume!
You don't burn bridges in the Coaching world and survive long.
Yep, if a guy wants to explode on a former employer he waits till after he retires. Mostly these guys love themselves too much to burn bridges. Relationships are the key to keep working in this profession you can get fired at any time. Some coaches end up working at over 20 different places throughout their gigs. They cross paths with associates and former bosses all the time.

Perspective
- Niedemeyer was always good at connecting with the youth. We LOVED how good he was at social media, and that helped him become National Recruiter of the year. He was a cool coach. Didn't say good...

- You don't have to be a very good coach at IMG, because of their inherent advantage.
They just want someone that keeps the kids engaged and excited. Nieds will definitely do that!

- Because kids will love him, they will naturally take his side. All he has to say when asked by a player "Coach what do you think about UT"- he can simply respond "I'm glad I'm here now (IMG)

- IMG kids have all kinds of options. And YES, Niedemeyer being there doesn't help us at all.

- The reverse is also true. UT has MORE to choose from. Hell, look at the top talent fron each state in the south alone. Alabama has three 5* CBs and only 1 of them attend a powerhouse program. The other 2 are just regular public schools.

Our 5 hour radius of recruiting is more talented than anywhere in the country.
And we're still recruiting California in addition to that.

Summation: Does it really matter??
