Sounds like a smart thing to do. What decent coach would want to make the leap to us not knowing what the NCAA is going to do? In addition, if good coaches didn't want to sign on know, why hire a so so coach and be faced with this same problem in 3 years. While I would love to get a high quality coach ASAP, I think it is unwise to hire an up and coming coach who can not coach at this level and have to go through this same process again. Surely, our fans and Administration can see the wisdom in this process.we will announce Steele tomorrow
Just the messenger here
I'm very pro DW, right now, but we 'should've' known a little bit...we being DW. When he accepted he knew what he was getting into. I'll be more than disappointed if he came into this blind. I don't believe that.Well we didn't know what reaction we would get until went looking for a coach. Its now apparent we aren't who we thought we were
Not going to believe anything till I see it. Might have my eyes checked even thenThis board can twist any and everything. If you all fall for what Finebaum or some guest is saying or conjecturing my happen by all means have at it. They don't have any idea, they are just seeing who will believe their crap. I will wait on the AD, good day! JMHO. GBO!
I fully expect the sins of the filthy, cheating Gump are unpardonable. But you cannot tell me there isn't a quality G5 coach that is looking to move up and make a name for himself. Grant him 4-5 years, and all the support he needs to implement his system. Let him get used to the SEC with no pressure. There is too much to sell here to waste the next two classes on a lackluster interim. Any AD could have come in and gone with Steele. That is not why you hire the hotshot. It honestly could have nothing to do with him. We don't know the full seriousness of NCAA compliance issues, the lawyers/agents representing these coaching candidates will demand to know or you don't get off square 1. Maybe Danny White is suddenly incompetent, but if we end up with Steele my instinct is that Beldar's sins are far worse than we imagine.
We could have just kept Fulmer if we were going to make Steele the coach. Why would we agree to pay two AD’s through 2023 if this ends up being the outcome? What happened 20 years ago is not relevant.... If we struck out, this is the right move. Buy time.. Let things calm down... make another run in a couple years.
I sort of figured Steele might be named interim head football coach this season.Blue Steele?View attachment 345053
Insufferable you are...
Not watching the beatdown...
If that makes me not a fan...well, that is your opinion.
And I never take criticism from someone I would not take advice from.
If this is the best Danny White can do i hope he follows Kevin Steele out the door in December if Kevin Steele is only coaching this season.I fully expect the sins of the filthy, cheating Gump are unpardonable. It would be exactly why you pay for an really good AD. You see the problems inexperienced ADs have been unable too for us and make absolutely critical mistakes. For almost 15 years, the old adage that hast makes waste has been proven correct. This is not why you pay $2mil for an AD. I don't buy this story yet.
