I never clicked on it. From an "outsider" I always liked Fulmer a lot.
My point was think what you want about Stoops but I don't think "under achiever" is a word I would use.
Hopefully you guys don't treat John Cooper or Earl Bruce or Jim Tressel like a lot of our fans treat Fulmer, which is with utter disrespect and contempt. You probably have a few, guess all major fan bases do.
Oklahoma fans basically disrespects Neyland Stadium.
"My husband and I were in Tennessee to play golf, and on a rainy day decided to drive to see the famous Tennessee stadium. One, it is in the middle of town, with hills everywhere, poor parking, and since half of the stadium is on the river, this limits traffic flow. Also, it just looked like a big metal hulk. UGLY!"
Tennessee game
.Decided to check out some Oklahoma forums and came across some posts I thought were worth sharing:
Looking forward to reading his posts after the game this year.
Others weren't so dismissive of UT:
Good point.
Then theres this priceless gem:
Funny how the #1 QB prospect just picked the Vols. UT might yet again have a Manning-like recruit after all. Something even funnier is stating that UT has to "creampuff their non-conference schedule" in a thread created because UT is playing Oklahoma for the second straight year. Especially when considering UT has also recently played OOC creampuffs Oregon, UCLA and Cal.
No, most Oklahoma fans aren't like this. But it was surprising that some of these outrageous posts weren't challenged more.

I think September 12 is going to be a special night.
Earl Bruce is looked on very fondly by our fan base now. He was 9-3 Earle but did a good job beating Michigan. He is on tv and radio here. Just had a stroke a week or 2 ago.
John Cooper situation has also softened over time. He had a ton of talented teams but in end 2-10-1 vs Michigan and failures in bowl games did him in.
Jim Tressel is a legend here. He brought us back to winning a National Title and dominated Michigan 9-1 in his tenure. I felt he should have been fired for the tat gate scandal though. No one harbors any hard feelings toward Tress.
Good to hear. Most here hold all of our former coaches (except for Kiffin and Dooley) in high esteem. Neyland, Wyatt, Dickey, Battle, Majors and Fulmer. But we have a vocal contingent of anti-Fulmer guys....defies logic. Anywho, guess it's just part of the deal. Maybe the passage of time lessens the volume. Fortunately, we have a guy in Jones right now who is pushing all the right buttons in terms of rebuilding the program and brand, has been damn near flawless to date. Now for the hard part....go win some games.
Good point. I think OU will be over confident coming into Knoxville. That's exactly what we want.
When I think of the top coaches in the game, Stoops name doesn't come up. His success happened early on. How many times in the past 5-8 years has his teams been hyped upped (top 10) and finish with 8-4 records? Last year they were 8-5. Clemson beat them like a red-headed step child. I think they will leave Knoxville humbled.
I don't think OU cares about our raw talent or who might be good this year for us. The OU players know they whipped us last year and believe they will again this year. Yes, stoops is a smart coach and knows how to prepare but I doubt he's losing any sleep over this game. It's just like how Ohio st was overconfident against Virginia tech last year. It doesn't matter if we beat the best OU, it only matters if we win.
anyone who saw ou collapse last year shouldnt be at all over confident. there shouldnt be any chest thumping after the way we finished from mid oct on.
the new offense throws in another wild card but its sure isnt a given ou will come out gang busters. ou has started the season slowly more often than not through the years.
i think most ou fans are more hopeful than over confident. i think its just going to be a good old fashioned slobber knocker. wish i could go to the game. with a mostly new OL and QB i hope we can run the ball a little bit and throw to our guys instead of yours

It dang near ticks me off to hear from opposing fans that are so confident. Next time you see me I'll be standing at gate 14 smiling at some too Sooners as they sulk out of our beautiful stadium. Offering words of encouragement for that long ride home
Stoops will have his team ready. No way he wants to lose to an SEC team. This will be a tough game for both teams I think.
Curious as to how Jones has proven that he is a joke? Would be nice for that guy to explain that.
I have no.problem with them making fun of us, but saying our OOC SOS is a joke is making fun of themselves.
