Coaching Staff Changes (David Johnson leaving for FSU)

Wienke has done nothing with all three guys and none of them are devoid of talent. JG holding the ball too long might not be fixable but BM being able to read coverage is.
Weinke was only hired because of his IMG connections. That hasn’t paid off so there’s no reason for him to be retained.

Maurer is still not been in a game long enough to get over the jitters. He knows if he is not perfect he will get yanked.

Personally, I hope YAC decides to stay. All of this talk about who we should get ignores whether or not they would actually come, and whether or not they would actually fit with the staff we have. Jay Graham may be perfectly happy at TAMU and not want to come here. Tosh Lupoi is a defensive coach and isn't in play to replace YAC. Some of you don't seem to understand how the process works.

BM is a freshman and a risk taker that's not something easily fixed. JG is afraid to take risks. Also not easily fixed. It's just easier for you to blame the coach. It's been said by Pruitt how good they practice but for some reason they are unable to bring it to the game. That's not on Weinke.

Kind of shocking at the amount of staff changes during Pruitts short career here
He's a first time head coach learning on the fly. Helton wasn't great. In fairness, he didn't have much to work with and Pruitt even admitted to meddling. Just not a good fit.

Fair was pushed onto JP. With Pruitt being a Db guy, i think he didnt feel like he was a great coach at this level. He wasn't hot on the recruiting trail either.

Whether people want to admit it or not, even after the 1-4, These guys did a hell of a job getting 18-22 yr olds to buy in after one of the worst starts ever. When you have success people will pay lots of money to come get your guys. Just the way it is. Luckily, minus a few guys in the top programs, most everyone is replaceable. We are trying hard to keep DJ, though.

Vegasvolfan,What did coach Johnson lack as a running backs coach this past year. They played hard, caught passes, blocked, etc. And he recruits the he'll out of Memphis.Whom do you have in mind as a replacement for that?If he decides to go,so be it.But,do not say it wouldn't be a loss.
