Nah, I'll stick around and watch this Butch Jones that needs a shave self explode next year with another long list of excuses and talking points as to why we went 5-7 in 2026 and missed the invite to the Dukes Mayonaise Bowl with another painful loss to Vanderbilt.

It must suck being you. You know what's funny? Huepel walks on the left side of the Vol walk every week and he's right out front. Maybe you can be a man and stop him and say "Butch Jones you need to shave"

If the judge rules on Joey's case in the next few days your going to have a stroke.

What other team with 3 losses threw their true freshman QB in to get ready for next year.

I'll wait

The court case is going to be ruled on not in the next few days. It will be done in the spring. There is literally no indications that the case that Joey is listed in is anywhere remotely close to reaching a decision. Heupel would be a moron to pin his QB room on a judge possibly ruling in Joey's favor.

Regardless, there are plenty of better QB's in the portal that have higher upsides than Joey.

He had a slightly better year than 2023 Joe Milton. Was serviceable, but nothing to write home about all while finishing 8-4.

NEXT please.

I’m saying I see no improvement in the young guys when they have to step up. They play like they haven’t practiced since HS. If these guys are good enough to sign with an SEC school, they should be good enough to beat some teams with a winning record.
COACHING. And it starts at the top.
Every team has injuries.
Of the top of your head what teams top 2 corners played only a combined 6 games this year.

I'll wait

Our rivals make fun of us year in and year out and we remain convinced that we’re just a year or so away. I’m beginning to question whether it will happen again before I die. Georgia fans waited 40 years. It’s been a solid 28 for us. Hey maybe next year or the year after right? Here’s hoping.

I like Joey Football, but I totally agree. The ceiling is higher with any of the top 1-3 QBs in portal (IMHO).

Stop with the injury excuses. Everybody has injuries at some position. Besides, these backups are part of top 15 or better recruiting classes. They are supposed to be SEC athletes.
The problem is when you have all the injuries at the same position. Boo Carter may as well have been injured as well

So you really don't pay attention do you

Illinois is never EVER winning the big 10.

If in year 5 we are losing to anyone in a bowl game not in the top 15 we have issues.

We didn’t beat a single team this year with a winning record.

Not 1.
It’s true. We’ve got to get better players from the portal. Indiana, Vanderbilt, Texas Tech have proved that’s the recipe for success. You can’t rely on recruiting high school players to win the SEC. We just don’t have good enough players to get to where we want to be. I think Arkansas and Mississippi State could beat Illinois.

No need to do that, his record, his teams results, his apologists and his personal appearance communicate those facts quite well to the fan base, the sports media, the donors and the boosters, nobody says it better than he does.

In fairness I understand your point about them winning the B1G as it's been a while but they have won a big 10 fb championship it's probably been 20 years but who had Indiana on their bingo card this year?

Still waiting... Who?
Not sure where you’d find that info, but if you think any football team doesn’t deal with injuries, you must think this is flag rules. Regardless, with top recruiting classes plus portal, you should be deep enough to have 2 serviceable corners. McCoy got hurt in the Spring so he had months to get a replacement ready. Part of a coach’s job is to fill a roster with enough players at each position to not get wiped out by injuries. Gotta have enough talent to beat a team with a winning record.
We just disagree. I think the only game they lost because of the corners, is the Ga game and I’m not sure any corner could have stopped the Ga QB when he got in that zone.

He's from the side of sports that the head coach required discipline on the practice field, the game field, in mannerisms, dress and appearance. I'm in the same cut of cloth. Usually coaches that require total discipline are highly successful. It's called taking pride in whom you are with, the team you play on and in yourself. It does spill over to enthusiasm in ball games and in life.

Both.

CJH has got to be the worst coach in college football after a bye (long break) week. You would have thought that the offense would be firing on all cylinders today (night) but it looked pedestrian at times.

Gets away from the run game way too often.

Tries to protect the defense way too much by slowing down the offense. This is causing the offense to become discombobulated.

Absolutely no improvement on defense. Where’s the pass rush?

Have to make moves in the portal or I could get ugly next year.

Defense:

1. Edge - what looked like a position of strength on paper might be the biggest weakness on this team. Herring and Ross didn’t look like the answer tonight. Absolutely no QB pressure.

2. DT - we need at least 2 that can compete in the SEC from the portal- I would take and work the numbers out.

3. Corner - Ty Redmond looks like he might be a future 1 or 2 draft pick. Desperately need help on the other side.

4. Safety - I think you would have to take 2

5. LB - The 2 freshman are going to be good. Take 1.

Offense:

1. QB - Not the time to go cheap.

2. RB - we need a HR guy. Bishops can get singles and doubles and an occasional triple but doesn’t seem to be the HR threat.

4. WR 1 - can Mike Matthews be that guy? Yes. Will he? Who knows with his inconsistency. I was hoping to get a glimpse tonight but he disappeared.

Is he from the side that played big time college football? Played QB? Finished 2nd in the Heisman Trophy voting? And the side that won the national championship? All while he was chubby? I didn't think so.

Ask posters like @DeerPark12 and @LWSVOL what the prevailing thought is on Coach Heupel in the building.

They are all trolls who do not pull for Tennessee.

Nice post
Or they want Tenn to win more than you and the other Heupel hopefuls do.
You do realize all of us are here to say what we see. Everybody has an opinion. Some see reasons (kicker, injuries, probation, original depleted roster) for losing, at the same time others see issues with coaching.

This is a VERY undisciplined team….in many ways. Would a championship caliber team be jumping off sides on a 3rd and six for the game? Would a well coached team be waiting for the defensive call 80% of the time? They are out of position most of the time! They are scrambling as the play gets called! On another note…. I also heard they were out partying on South Broad two days before the game. Poor coaching. Poor discipline. Poor results.
