The Defense Is just lackluster. That's the biggest problem. I knew when he ran the kickoff back it wasn't really a good thing for the vols to score that quick because the Defense wasn't going to stop them.

CJH has been too reliant on high school recruiting. It’s too hard (and to expensive) to hold them till they are ready to play elite football. The teams in the CFP are older and experienced players. 18 year olds are not gonna help for years. We have to go bigger than ever in the portal. Lots of mature players to contribute right away - think Ole Miss, IU, etc. If you can’t recruit and hold on to them like UGA and OSU, have to portal hard.

Says a guy who has zero first hand coaching experience or a product of any as a player
i'm flattered that you enjoy following me around hahahaha

you have coaching experience ....yes or no? product of any as a player......yes or no? your local powder puff leagues don't count...sorry.

some of you sheep get so butt hurt when people criticize the football team/coaches......geez hahaha

Beilema used the same playbook he used at AR and same offense. I believe he actually let us score that last TD kick return on purpose to get the ball back, because he knew he could run out the clock and score on our defense. That's good coaching. Heupel has been outcoached this year. That is just a fact. We're not seeing gameday improvement. Next year's going to be a pivotal year for him. We have to start beating ranked teams and stop losing at home period.

What role does money play in the process of paying for talent?

- Who controls those dollars?
- Is there enough? How does UT compare?
- Is money the answer to UT’s problems on the field?

It was a kicker. That was the difference.
Twice. Maybe 3 times. The kicker was the difference in 8-5 and possibly 10-3 or 11-2. There will be games like that even if you are a Saban team. How many FSU/UF games were decided by wide left or wide right in the Bowden years. Kickers have to have thick skin and very short memories. Ours seem to have neither. That's not to say he can't come back next year and be the nations leading kicker. But, he may need therapy to get there at this point. All kickers will miss here and there. But, by hte time you get back to your hole on the sideline you better be done with the one you just missed and be ready for the next attempt. It's the most mental job on the field.

In year 5? Lol
In the age of opt outs and, portals, and NIL every year is now a rebuilding year. As Riley said in one of his pre-game interviews this week, most coaches have probably just accepted the new way and understand you just don't build rosters anymore. It's now a year to year process. FSU goes from juggernaut in 2023 to horrible in 2024 to mediocre in 2025.

Who's responsible for the talent and coaching? There's your answer.

Heupel better hope Knowles is the real deal...If not he won't be around much longer.
It’s the defense.

How much RESPONSIBILITY should Heupel take for the Defensive side of the ball (talent acquisition, development, scheme, calls)? My thought is minimal… 20%.

How much ACCOUNTABILITY does Heupel have for defense results? 100%.

Coach is making moves. His time will be short if his defense doesn’t improve greatly.

Long, very long time fan here but, not as in depth as to personnel as some of you. However , what do you feel has been the reason behind the lackluster season we just had. To me, it’s telling we only beat one team with a winning record and that was against a FCS school.
I think it's culture. We don't have a strong mental game. Why is our kicker still missing gimmes? The coaches should have been putting him in pressure situations in practice ever since the UGA miss. Guys quitting on the team mid season? Everything wrong with our defense? We don't have a physical demeanor about us and that reflects a culture that doesn't embrace the grind.

What's worse is did anybody look at Illinois at the end of the game and say "man? that team is good" or "player x just can't be stopped"? It's very telling to lose. The reasons have to be many.

Before anyone says it - Illinois had opt outs too.

The buck stops on the desk of the man making 9.3 million per.

Tennessee is more talented than Illinois and lost anyways. Primarily coaching in my opinion
I’ll challenge you on this especially with our star players out where were we more talented. Terlander is a MAC LB at best, we let our best safeties walk, and just being honest Bishop is an average SEC back a pretty decent step back from Sampson and Wright

You can watch him tomorrow. And very easily get season tickets for as long as you want.
He’s a far better Coach than Heupel. We are still waiting on Heupel to learn from all the same mistakes that he keeps making. Good coaches put their players in a position to win no matter the talent, I haven’t seen that since the GA game until Josh reared his ugly head again and iced his own feeble kicker.

Then kick rocks and pound sand. No one wants "fans" like you.
