They are great athletes but play slowly.

You realize how you get someone ready? You play them. Especially when you have house money to play with. We had 4 games over 8 weeks after we got eliminated from the playoff to get our backups major playing time.

You can't sit here and say "we can't play George because he isn't ready" while at the same time crying about "we can't possibly play him in meaningless games"......

We just finished the season playing 4 games since we got eliminated from the playoffs, our passing output has been 204, 204, 299, and 121 yards for a whopping average of 207 passing yards per game.....

If you think that Josh Heupel can't possibly coach up a highly recruited QB to put up 200-210 passing yards per game in an 8 week stretch where there is no difference in a 7-5 or 9-3 finish, we have bigger issues than just QB.

Heupel had ample opportunity and 2 weak ass teams in a 3 week stretch to get our 5 star "ready"..... Now you're crying about that QB not being ready to play in a meaningless bowl game.

Tennessee is going to have a couple million to throw at a portal QB. We are going portal shopping for QB regardless of what our plans are with Gmac.

The notion that we can't give Gmac 3 weeks worth of bowl practice as the first string QB out of fear he may get hurt is straight up pansy-itis. Just say you're scared.

I’m saying I see no improvement in the young guys when they have to step up. They play like they haven’t practiced since HS. If these guys are good enough to sign with an SEC school, they should be good enough to beat some teams with a winning record.

You might be right but how has he beaten Alabama and Florida multiple times since he’s been here? That hasn’t been done in what, 20 years? Luck is one time. But two times, I’m not so sure. Plus, who else is out there right now that is a better choice?

I'm not wrong on this. My position that finishing 8-4 with Aguilar was worse than finishing 8-4 with Mac or Merk starting the way out after the Oklahoma game. As it stands now, we know zero what we have at the QB position with the guys on the roster for next year and we are going to have to go get in bidding war for top tier QB's in the portal.

Heupel has no leg to stand on or excuse on shaky QB play next year.

I just think it is hilarious you say we can't afford to play George because he "isn't ready" yet you're crying about people saying he had ample opportunity to get major playing time in the final month of the regular season where 3 of the games meant zilch.

Illinois is never EVER winning the big 10.

If in year 5 we are losing to anyone in a bowl game not in the top 15 we have issues.

We didn’t beat a single team this year with a winning record.

Mostly defense... and it was on Tim Banks this year.
Jim Knowles didn't coach this game, and we had a first time DC out there.


We just never recovered after playing GA close, for sure that was their toughest game this year.
Not having Arion Carter, Chris Brazzell, and Joshua Josephs also definitely mattered.

Your comparing 1 guy Nico who left in the spring. The way the season played out and knowing Brandon was coming in next year Merk was not seeing the field and we have nothing to say that George isn't "developing" he just did not give us the best chance to win this game. Stop yelling at QB play. Honestly I give Joey a B+ this season. Football truly is a funny game. If our defense is middle of the road this year we probably get bounced in the first round of the playoffs.

If the judge rules on Joey's case in the next few days your going to have a stroke.

What other team with 3 losses threw their true freshman QB in to get ready for next year.
