Coaching or talent or both?

Long, very long time fan here but, not as in depth as to personnel as some of you. However , what do you feel has been the reason behind the lackluster season we just had. To me, it’s telling we only beat one team with a winning record and that was against a FCS school.

Why ask this question? Football is the ultimate team sport. You have to have the talent and you have to have the coaching. If one is lacking then you won’t win big.

I think the Georgia game threw this team for a loop and we never recovered. Throw in tons of injuries on the defense and we just couldn’t get any momentum

There is no excuse for that defense to be unable to stop another team. They have no size, speed, or ability to tackle

Heupel is as average as they come. If you think he has what it takes to win anything of significance at any school...you're delusional.

Talent is young but they struggled in areas they shouldnt have. No reason the pass rush should be non-existent at times. No reason the pass pro is garbage with all those starts. Secondary injuries really hurt. Hard for me to fully say. If GMac is a good QB they will be returning a ton and will improve at least a little.

Got blasted by a top tier Big 10 program last year, just got spanked by a middle of the road Big 10 team this year, Heupel continues to regress with this program, the biggest loss is GMAC not taking a snap in front of the Nashville crowd, we still only beat one team this year with a winning record, ETSU

I vote coaching. Look at what Indiana has done this year while being ranked 72 in the country in team talent. We’ve been consistently top 15 in recruiting under CJH and look where it’s gotten us.

It's why he needs a true OC and he should have hired Chip Kelly. Heupel needs to convert to head coach or he won't make it.

We don’t have enough talent to overcome our coaching and don’t have enough coaching to overcome our talent.
