I was listening to 3HL this afternoon and Clay Travis predicted that the vols will win in gaynessville by two touchdowns this year. I like Clay but he needs to STH up, it's too early to start talking like that!! It's spring, new coaches, new system etc. Samething we went through the past 2 or 3 years.

What do y'all think? I think Clay needs to keep the chatter down. I'll hang up and listen

Eh, nobody takes him too seriously. He may admittedly be a UT fan, but he hardly speaks for the program. He gets paid to ruffle people's feathers.

Pretty sure he's been invited to guest referee the 'Bama spring game. Should be entertaining. Hope he owns kevlar.

It's always nice to hear that someone thinks your team is going to beat someone, especially the Gators, but before spring practice is completely premature. I'd love to think that game is a for sure win, but I think it's far from it. Even with the state of the Florida program I can't reasonably think that. Florida still has tremendous athletes and we are still very young. However, if we stay relatively injury free, it is a very winnable ball game and could be a huge springboard for the 2011 season.

Yeah he seems to get under peoples skin, I know he doesn't speak for the program but I just wanted to see what others think about his prediction

That should be very very interesting down in turd town lol. He better watch out for ol Harvey Updike, he might poison his drink lol

Two touch downs or two points as long as we get the win. It's been so long since we bet the Gators.

Good post my friend, I agree.

I don't think it's out of the question but no one knows how these teams are going to look come fall. Our running game is still questionable and we still have a massive lack of depth on the D-line. I feel like right now we are a solid 7 win team and who knows maybe we win one of those games in Gainsville but it's WAAAAAYYYY to early for that.

I won't say 2 tds but I will say we will beat Florida. I dont care if its by one point in 18 over times.

I know they have new coaches. But they still have a lot more talent.
I watched their spring game this year. Going by just what the guys calling the game said, They return zero experience on their offensive line.
Plenty of talent everywhere else. If our front 7 can't capitalize, it will be a long season. JMO

Yes, I hope that our running game can get going for that game because one of the key stats in this rivalry game is who has the most rushing yards. But one of my bigest concern's is lack of D-line depth, not just for the FU game but for the entire season

Our running game is going to be the key for the entire season. The lack of a running game cost us at least two games last season. Imo

I believe this game has the makings of a great matchup. Interestingly, it will be strength vs strength (our offense, their defense) and weakness vs weakness. We know our offense will score points, and i don't believe their offense will be able to keep up in the event of a shootout. While I won't go so far as to say we win by 2 TDs, I do believe the Vols leave Gainsville victorious.

I think Clay is a buffoon. Funny...last year he was all but calling for Dooley's head. He changes his mind as often as the wind changes direction.

Lol I agree, he's in the business of getting under peoples skin. I disagree with somethings he says but I can tolerate him.
