That's not stupidity, that's WHAT IS EXPECTED. If you don't want the burden of a game on you if you lose then don't play D1 QB for a Top 25 school in the SEC. Crompton lost this game because he didn't take advantage of OPEN receivers and by throwing the ball in the dirt. Clawson gave Cromp the keys and he totaled the car.

Crompton couldn't execute the plays Clawson was calling. Clawson should have Ran, Ran, and Ran some more. I think its about 50/50 on the blame.

I did see that too...crompton gets some sort of happy feet i've never seen. I know qbs normally overthrow or throw picks when they get pressured constantly, but I dont think ive ever seen the pressure cause the qb to constantly throw the ball 3-10 yards short of the WR

Give me a freaking break. Did Casey Dick ever throw 40 passes in a game? Why not? Because his freaking coaches recognized he couldn't hit a receiver if said player was equipped with a tractor beam. Plus, there was no reason to have him throw it so damn much because the running game was so effective. If there's a player struggling and an effective alternative is present, it's the coach's responsibility to make the right choice. Clawson didn't do that. He screwed up.

Rich Rodriguez belongs at Central Michigan instead of Michigan?
That Auburn shouldn't have hired their 'mickey mouse game plan' offensive coordinator?

I suppose we could always go back to being good old predictable Tennessee; which all the SEC had already figured out long ago, and those with the talent (Florida, Auburn, LSU, ect) could stop us whenever they wanted to.

If we do this they stack the line and we become ineffective at running as well. That's called adjustment which isn't in Chavis' dictionary.

Nah, wouldnt have worked. Save the big plays, they were able to stuff the run fairly often

congratulations eric, you've now gone full circle. I could make the same post i did earlier, but you'd just resort back to your lame "execution" excuse and start the whole process over again.

We ran the ball 34 times and pass it 42 times. It's not Clawson's fault that Cromp's completion percentage was 45%. Pretty balanced attack I would say.

Play action is overrated and with the pressure they were getting on Cromp we would have sustained more damage in sacks and yards lost than incomplete passes.

Playaction, if executed properly, will help neutralize pressure. Watch the Colts play and tell me play action is overrated. I'm tired or your PS3 football strategy.

absolute lunacy. Once you get the running game going, the blitz backs off. You then throw in play action and it's EXTREMELY effective. Anyone that knows anything about football knows how effective play action is.

Well then get us the best OC in the country and see if it made a difference tonight and I say it doesn't. Cromp's head wasn't in the game.

this is sad of play calling and head coach,we have the 2 top running backs in college,and we run with them on 1st down,and get 6 to 7 yards on carry,then every time on 2nd and 3 or 4,we pass,instead of pounding the rock,and playing defense,we have bad coaching,look what alabama did with ingram and coffee,lol,what are our coaching thinking,does fulmer and clawson,so stuck on peyton manning in hte nfl,that they forget about pounding the rock,cmon fire the coaches,better coaches out there



stats,crompton a rookie,starting in the rose bowl atmosphere,and threw 42 times



running backs,5th year senior,and hardesty,got the ball 25 times all game between both together,avg.7.1 a carry between them,but still threw the ball on 2nd and 3 2nd and 5 2nd 2nd and1,i mean we have a big back and fast bcak against the pac 10 defense,fire the coach or we will never get any were.

Play calling is play calling and execution is execution. You let me know which one is more important and we will talk about play action and how effective it is when EXECUTED properly.

I was at the game... in the nose bleeds, and I say the blame is mostly on Crompton. There were plenty of plays that were there to be made. He didn't make the throws.

He had a happy feet thing going. He also underthrew and overthrew the ball all night.
