Clawson

I'll leave it at this myself (and this is used on here a lot)... what's the definition of lunacy?

I do find it comical that people are already jumping ship even though our conference play hasn't started yet. UCLA did mean something, but it doesn't mean anything compared to SEC play and SEC divisional games. That's the beef right there. Who knows where this season will go but after tonight's performance by Cromp I am a bit skeptical if he can command this team like Ainge did.

if ya really cant see that we didnt run the ball on 2nd down, and put the ball in jc's hands,u dont kno football,we have to run the ball with 2 great running back tandrems, and play defense,we won in 1998 cause of travis and jammall, and defense,we have to run the ball more, especially on 2nd and 4 yard to go,and not calling timeout when the delay of game that put us out of field goal range, and we had to punt in the 4th quarter, were's the coach that supposed to protect our players, and field position,to call time out before the delay of game.especially on a 51 yarder already,to move to a 56 yarder, fulmer has to call timeout,3 points was important then, well ya will see 1 day that fulmer cant coach, and won 1 title in 17 years and with all that talent that has came thru knoxville all those years,un exceptable to not win 3 at least, dang 2 surely, with all that talent that went thru knoxville,we get a new coach like a nick saban, etc,u will see that tere is more fish in the sea,i mean get a coach.

People are jumping ship because this opener was basically a slightly worse reenactment of the 2005 opener against UAB. Florida got better or at least stayed even from last season. We appear to be much, much worse.

When you have the lead most of the game and you're averaging 6 yards a carry on a team playing an inexperienced qb on the road there's no reason to pass over 40 times.

They had ONE returning starter in their secondary if I am not mistaken. Passing the ball against a inexperienced secondary was a good plan if our QB can execute it. UCLA was 14th against the run last year and yes we did well tonight. Think though how good it would have been had we had a passing game that opened it up more.

Think how much better the passing game might have been if the front seven had been kept honest by a consistent running attack.

Complaining about a horrible performance isn't jumping ship.

I look on the front page of this forum and more than the fair share are definitely preparing the life boat as we speak. Already a Fire Fulmer Petition thread. I'm glad there is a bye week so people can reflect and get positive before UAB.

You've posted in this very thread that our QB is incompetent and that our defense wouldn't adjust if their lives depended on it. What are you suggesting everyone needs to get so positive about?

WE ran the ball 34 times. If we would have been stopped more running the ball and didn't pass it as much then you would have been saying just the opposite. Can't please you people for anything. :p

I'd only be saying the opposite if Crompton looked really effective.

Good point, but Ill go a step further and say that its a good plan if the QB doesnt keep throwing against their ONE RETURNING STARTER! (who appearently is all PAC-10, go figure)

We only ran it 25 times with our rbs. 6 of those carries were by Crompton for 3 yards.

Looks scary similair to the Alabama fiasco last year.

The thing is, if UCLA had been playing with their starters and not the 2nd/3rd string, we would have lost by 14 minimum.

Too tired to read through the thread, but I'll say this: Our execution sucked. I was fine with the play calling. The players need to make he plays.

I'm just waiting for the media outlets to get a hold of the Foster-Crompton collision in the backfield and including it when talking about Clawson's new O.

Highly embarassing.

I agree. The plays were there to be made. The throws were just not there.

So we didn't almost beat the eventual National Champions?? I thought we did well for as inexperienced a secondary we had.

Thanks for reminding me of another time we lost to a pathetically depleted shell of a team. We faced Diet LSU that day and lost.

Since when is losing something to boast about?

Maybe if you're Appy St playing that close to LSU.

But not us. That's just pathetic to boast about.

Who's boasting?? For a team that wasn't tabbed to go anywhere in the East last season by the so-called experts we did well and played a damn good game on defense in the SECCG last year. Ainge cost us that game just like Cromp did tonight.
