When was the last time UT went 45-19 or better over a 5 year period?I’m too old to embarrass myself, think what you want… but since YOU ASKED. What I meant, DUDE, is a stronger conference (than it was).
And judging by your question…
…you seem confused.
Kiffin is in our same conference.
Coaching his alma mater. Not realistic since he’s doing really well![]()
Unexpected SEC head coach surging for Penn State job after Kalen DeBoer win
An unexpected SEC head coach is surging for the Penn State job after Kalen DeBoer and Alabama won the Iron Bowl.www.newsweek.com
Key at George Tech would be huge
Hey, found my sippy cup...When was the last time UT went 45-19 or better over a 5 year period?
You don't want to answer after being asked 3 different times. I'll give you the answer - it was with Fulmer, which proves my original point to you.
Have a great day!
Not sure where you're going with that. No one is questioning if he would be fired this year. He's still not on the warm seat much less hot seat. The issue is 1. Will he get poached this season or even next season? And #2 if he doesn't, and lasts a couple more years and continually underperforms, who could be an improvement (based on the historical record of hot commodity coaches flopping when promoted to a top tier program)? If Heupel isn't coaching here in 2026, it will be because he chose to leave. He's not getting fired for going 8-5 (if we lose the bowl game).
No P4 program is poaching a coach who just got skull-drug at home by Vandy. If Heupel leaves, it's because he wants to. And I don't think he does. I think he, like many of us, is very disappointed with the '25 season. He wants to fix it, and win big here. Despite what some say, UT is in fact a "destination job".Not sure where you're going with that. No one is questioning if he would be fired this year. No one chasing him off. If he leaves he is resetting his own clock. That is on him. Quit blaming the fans everytime good grief. If we chase Heupel off, I may be looking for a new team. Heupel has a top 10 winning % of active coaches and made Tennessee relevant again. Not our name and spare me the UT sells itself. We spent more than a decade in the woods the guy that pulled us out people want gone after 8 possibly/9 wins
The 45-19 means nothing. We are 9th place in the sec in year 5, just got embarrassed by a traditional bottom feeder in the conference. We aren’t even the best team in the great state of Tennessee. This is NOT because we lost 2 of our best defenders We haven’t been prepared to play winning football all year, except absolute inferior opponents. It’s all about timing. Some would say we held onto the man who finished 152-52 here for too long, but somehow 45-19 is worthy of guaranteed employment. That which must be done inevitably, must be done immediatelyThen let's fire CJH, and do it all over again in 3 years, then 3 years after that.
Tennessee is 45-19 (11th nationally) since CJH took over. When was the last time UT has had a better record over a 5 year period?
It’s worthy of leeway for a few years. You don’t fire the man who pulled you outta the gutter the 1st sign of there being some dirt on his shoulder. You double down your resources, ask what can be done to make it better, and try to fix the situation to keep improving. We not had a losing season, our recruiting has steadily gotten better, and we’re moving in an upward direction as a program. The 45-19 means nothing. Once again, literally the first line in this thread is talking about people wanting him fired. Not sure where you're going with that. No one is questioning if he would be fired this year. What do you consider enough leeway. This is year 5, and admit it or not, we are a horrible football team. If we wait until year 7-8 and we’re still here, it’s too late. We will be forced to start over again. For once I want the university of my state to get out in front and be pro activeIt’s worthy of leeway for a few years. His winning percentage is better than our all time winning percentage. So if Heupel was our coach throughout ALL of Tennessee history we would have a better win percentage than we do now. Just a stark reminder.
