All players don’t get paid more than anyone else on their side of the ball either. If you’re going to make someone your highest paid player, it’s retarded to choose a diva. Everyone knew Nico and Boo were divas before they got here. It wasn’t a secretSo you are saying a coach is supposed to know what an 18 year old is thinking!!!!!. You name Nico and Boo. How about all the successful players with great character that have been signed by CJH. No coach is batting 1000%
Amen. I had to smack myself sometimes when ingratitude kicked it. Realized how blessed I was and success took off! Gratitude is powerful.Hey Chaz- sometimes you gotta act like a man!!! I grew up in northern Jersey and drove 750 miles south to attend UT in September of 1975 and didn't know a soul there. Also, I didn't have football coaches coddling to me or amazing training facilities at my fingertips or sumptuous meals prepared for me (Sophies??) or a dorm as nice as The Ritz Carlton to live in (Hess sucked). You have landed in paradise young man so wake up and smell the roses cuz all you'd be smelling back in Ohio or PA right now is snow.

NoIf he were injured, would we be having this conversation?
The question is: is mental health a health issue. I believe it is.
Then if he's having a mental health issue that's keeping him from playing, it's just like an injury we risk with any player.
If he'd broken his leg would we be saying "he's just not tough enough to play on it anyway and he needs to suck it up because we're paying him....."
Or maybe some of you doubted it was real when Hendon Hooker tore his leg up? Maybe he was just a slacker and should've played because we needed him?
If you can't see the health issue, it's not real... Right?
He’s old enough to join the military and die for his country. Usually not just about the mental health either. Kids are home sick but they sure aren’t giving back the money they got paid.He cant even legally have a beer.
The male brain isn’t fully developed until 26 or so. I’m certain there is a neuro on the board who can elaborate.
If kiddo has mental health issues beyond just maturity opportunities, thats another story.
"Amateur". How the NCAA and their apologists misspell "We're going to exploit you and make you like it".Here is the problem with that statement. If he did not have this talent that everyone speaks of and had to exist in real life, how long do you think an employer would give them to "find themselves"? If it is about greed, then he will bolt to the first school that offers him more and all effort put into his development will be for another school. If he can't handle getting paid millions of dollars to move away from home for a few years without pining for home, he will be Boo Carter 2.0 and will want to hang more with his family and crew than focus on football. With the money he is making, he could buy his family a house and move them here while he plays for UT. It isn't like he is right out of high school, he played for Penn State last year. Unfortunately, teenagers that play sports college will have to learn to grow up and be ready faster or fall by the wayside now. It is already stressful and hard; throw in the lure of spending obscene amounts of money and be expected to want to work hard to get better at your craft. Those who screamed "NIL will help sports get better and help the kids" will now understand why those of us who protested felt the way we do. DO NOT count on anyone truly even being a VFN (Vol For NOW) little less anyone ever being a true VFL ever again.
I have been a sports fanatic since I was 6 years old (and I am OLD) and it has reached the point that it is no longer entertaining to watch sports of any kind. The same reason that I cannot stand any professional sport has now poisoned and corrupted "amateur" sports. Very soon, the only attachment I have with my alma mater will be my diploma and my wardrobe of multiple clothing items colored orange and white.
So we are gonna make it illegal for people to make a lot of money until they are 26?He cant even legally have a beer.
