Charlie Kirk Shot and killed

i suggest that when people stop themselves from saying something that could get themselves in trouble for saying it online, they should also reflect on if that is the person they wish to be
I suggest you either are retired living comfortably or upper class. A middle class family that loses an income due to an angry post can be detrimental... it's simply not worth it. No matter how mad you want to let people on Volnation know you are. I'd rather look out for a brother than lead them towards trouble. In the end, I'd reckon 75-80 percent of us here are feeling the same my Ape friend.

i think you misunderstood my post

people should definitely post with a cooler head
they should also think about what they're feeling when they realize what they say might get them in trouble.

Wow. Go on X and do a search for “fired”. I think the sheer number of sick libs being fired today for their gleeful statements on Charlie Kirk might just cause the unemployment rate to tick upward s.
the disgusting thing is how many of them are “educators”
The FO phase has begun
I'm just glad these people are getting punished. 8-10 years ago, they would not be getting fired. The culture has shifted enough now to the point where that sort of online behavior can actually get you fired.

Good thing? No
Appropriate? Maybe. Terry gets to see another second, minute, day.
Justifiable? No. Still should not resort to violence.

Disagree.

Maybe Terry will think twice before opening his mouth next time to the wrong crowd.
Terry should be thankful the LEO's were present or this may have been much worse.

As stated earlier, Conservatives have been told to take the high road in these situations for years and this method has failed almost every time. Those days are over and from what I read and have seen online, many conservatives agree. The gloves are off.

Clearly, however, a huge part of the problem is that so many people see only one point of view, and SM isn't set up to challenge that.

I will say as well, it seems to me that a lot of the problem is youth. They get so much of their news and opinion from social media that they have no perspective. Older people understand that there are other points of view and that they have been wrong in the past and so they are more tolerant of other points of view and willing to consider them. Young people today get amped up by that one point they see over and over.

How about tik tok or facebook.or whatever the hip ones are have their algorithms from time to time say, "Hey, consider this other view point. Make up your own mind, but be broadminded,."
Social Media allows you to spout whatever with no accountability. Especially immediate. Social Media has allowed for a bunch of keyboard cowards to grow up in our society with no sense of respect to humanity. It is a shame that a tool that could be so beneficial to society has become such a weapon of evil,

I’m not going to wade through pages of posts, so sorry if this has already been addressed. But I’m floored that in 2025 people still think they’re insulated from consequences for what they post online. I can’t keep up with how many people have been fired today over their reactions to Kirk’s death yesterday.

Not saying **** to anybody on FB, but I'll say it here. Political violence is always an awful result, even if it's justified, and none of us seem to act accordingly, but we pretend we do when we're outraged about something.

It is inherently dismissive to disagree with an argument only with, "That's _________." Using a pejorative to shoot down an idea, without a valid explanation, is the textbook example of arguing in bad faith.

Your argument against him is that he called someone’s argument “silly”?

Is this a bad joke? If you’re referencing the encounter I’m thinking of, the other person calls him a Nazi. If that’s the worse a man 30 or under says to someone who calls them a Nazi, then he was a saint

You told us anything you do to ICE is justified. That means you’ve openly called for political violence. You’ve also defended the destruction of private property in the name of politics.
