+1000. I don't understand this notion that all of these high character guys can't play football. What good is a 5 star guy that gets kicked off the team because he can't stay out of trouble. Guy on Tony B yesterday said the difference in 3 star and 5 star is fraction of seconds in 40's and a couple of inches in height or a few extra pounds. Another coach was quoted as saying that if Nick Reveiz was 2 inches taller he would have 40 scholarship offers. Instead he was rated where he was. I think the kid has turned out to be a good football player. Lets all just relax on these questions and let dooley do his thing.
They aren't mutually exclusive by any means, but neither is it anywhere close to being the norm. We can all wish that it was, but its not.
You take a CB with a 4.0 GPA who does 50 hours of charity work a week, and who runs a 4.6 in the 40.
I'll take the WR who can only play on Saturdays because he's on work-release but runs a sub 4.4 in the 40 and I'll beat your brains out.
Every. Single. Play.
Saying you prefer the former over the latter - especially when you're paid millions of dollars per year to get the ball in the endzone - is curious at best, and asinine at worst.
