Chaney

Yet we had an issue with Run balance, despite having one of the best NFL lines weve ever fielded. There is a reason Kiffin called the plays while he was here. I didn't say he sucks, I think he is and elite coach and has an elite offense concepts, just don't believe he is an elite play caller.

We can only hope he becomes an elite play caller here. It could happen.... Todays win was nice, but I still need to see more from our O and Chaney.

What leads you to believe he is not? Give facts only please.
I didn’t say he wouldn’t or doesn’t.. I said I would. I believe he tells Jim to play aggressive or dial it back. Pruitt is in control. This was of full display against BYU. It may be improving though. He has to let Jim coach his way.

Pruitt is calling the plays on O? And here I thought thats what the OC's job was.
People NEVER cease to amaze me! Ultimately, every thing, no matter how small, is the head coaches fault. But, cjp cannot be blamed for every little thing that goes wrong with this team! I'm sick of hearing certain people talk trash about him that either have no clue what they're talkin about or just aren't happy that he inherited a dumpster fire. He's done very well on the recruiting trail to try and get this thing turned around. No, we shouldn't have lost to Georgia State, nor BYU, but we did. we played Georgia tough for almost 3 quarters and continued to perform well again this week and show major Improvement on the defensive side, Especially. Let's please just give him time, people!

So they are assumptions. Do you think an accomplished OC like Chaney would agree to coach on a staff where he was micromanaged? I don't.

Time now for people to lay off the coaches and players for a whole week. Most players showed improvement today. We should let the players know because they read the boards. Maurer showed out when he proved he can be a dual threat. Good things ahead for the Vols

It was also a super-well-designed play. Receivers blocked down, Byrd automatically planted and reversed direction to his right because of the blocking scheme. One of the best designed plays i’ve seen in a long time out of the Vols.

This. The play to Byrd was beautiful.

Know what will drive some here crazy?

It was really just a "bubble screen" play, except 10 yards down field instead of at the LOS. It worked beautifully, and won us the game. Great call by Chaney.

I'm actually watching the game now. 13 to go in 4th. Masterfully called game. 2 INTs hurt. 1 the freshman QB got schooled by a vet CB who faked zone coverage. The other was terrible...but was QB concussed at that moment. JG deep to Keyton was huge. Big pass to 15 in the 4th quarter. Shortly after another gem dropped by 15 would have has us at the 22 yl. And cautious run calls to churn clock and rest the D. Chaney was money today.

Pruitt is the problem.

BULL......SHEEEEEET.....

Was it Kirby's FAULT at UGA when Chaney had the best talent he was ever gonna have on the field and ended up choking away the 2nd halves in 2 games against BAMA.....

RIGHT!

I had been questionable of Chaney up to this point. But you guys made some good points to change my mind. He's having to playcall with the talent that's available, and that became evident to me today once JG came in. The changes/adjustments he made to limit the possibility of turnovers and keep the clock churning once JG came in was top notch. And he was able to put JG in a situation to succeed. A+ game for Chaney imo.

Their talent level was still nowhere near on par with bamas.

I like he’s running the ball more. OL showing improvement by the week. Didn’t put JG or Maurer in bad situations. I like he’s using Jordan more.

REALLY????? Just check the players from those 2 toe to toe UGA--Bama games and tell me they didn't!

Chaney choked those games away with some seriously incompetent 2nd halves....

Why do you think KIRBY made absolutely NO EFFORT to keep him at UGA???

I thought Chaney had a good game play today....but I would've liked to have seen him run some more of that throw to DWA down the seam....more of those running plays that Jordan took into the EZ....

I liked the design of that last TD to Byrd....and I've was SCREAMING after the Ga. State game about NOT getting BYRD the ball on offense....

Chaney's been living for years off of Drew Brees' successful NFL career....

I think some people ignore everything and only ask "was the result of the play a 1st down?" and if the answer is no, are "not impressed with the playcalling".
