I think it would make the regular season less interesting. Why play any OOC games, especially against quality opponents?
Would there be any reason for strengthening your conference top to bottom, ACC model will become the norm
Could not disagree more. I think opening the playoffs to 8 teams would only improve college football as a whole. Make the 5 power conference winners automatic bids and have 3 at larges based on ranking. This would make winning your conference title much more meaningful and would allow for some "Cinderella" teams a shot. I'm 1000% in favor of expanding to 8 teams.
The 4 spot didn’t matter this year. There are 3 teams that are night and day ahead of everyone else in the top 25. Whoever got the 4 spot was always gonna get blown out by LSU.
There is zero need for an expansion considering the strength of 1-3 and the weakness of 4-10.
Bama could play with any of them. With a healthy Tua they would have beaten lsu
You are correct sir ... and those that disagree ... well they just don't know what they are talking about. The facts, LSU played 5 different teams during the regular season that were ranked inside the Top 10 at the time they played. THE ohio state played only 2. This is not to say that THE ohio state is not a good team this year, they are BUT they should NEVER have been ranked in front of LSU and therefore should NEVER have been #1.
