Are you suggesting the Tennessee staff is telling players they don’t want to help them get to the league?

I assure you that has next to nothing to do with Tennessee recruiting Memphis, whether it was Barnes/Tyndall/Martin/Pearl/Buzz they’ve never been a presence in Memphis.

I was actually talking about the guy Penny replaced...Tubby went after 4 year guys like Myreon Jones and Jamal Johnson

Myreon Jones, Lincoln Academy, Combo Guard

Jamal Johnson, Auburn, Shooting Guard

^ those aren't the kind of kids to lead you to a Sweet 16 or an Elite Eight...

It'll be an interesting balancing act... Penny was smart to hire Sam Mitchell as Assoc HC. Under his guidance the Raptors enjoyed back-to-back playoffs and he was named 2007 NBA Coach of the Year. He handles the Xs and Os plus since he's from the NBA he's accustomed to dealing with a team of 'super stars' and their egos

We will never be a factor in Memphis. It will never happen. Got a much better chance in Atlanta and Nashville

Weird thing is Barnes hasn’t really established any sort of pipeline. Which is fine. It seemed like he was going to really be a factor in North Carolina but that hasn’t been the case.

Nashville and East for the most part...Tennessee and the Carolina’s with some international guys for the most part.
