Carolina Panthers

Either it happened late, or he played thorough it. He was in a lot today, even on the last Seahawks possession, IIRC.

Apparently, it happened earlier in the game, he played through it, and he's planning to do that going forward. X-rays tomorrow will tell the tale.

Was lucky enough to be in attendance today. Lost the voice again, but what a whirlwind of emotion. Took them to the woodshed first half, then play soft zone and conservative offense the rest of the game to let them storm back. If the Giants game didn't prove it to Rivera, I hope today did. You cannot play conservative football against a team like that and expect they lay down.

Great season, cap it off with a statement win next week and a win in 50. Keep Pounding!

I didn't care for the gameplan and/or lack of production in the second half, but I'll make one defense for it. When you're coming out of halftime up 31 points, the other team is going to need your help to get back in the game. 31 points is at minimum a four possession game, and that's assuming there are at least three successful 2-pt conversions. The goal for the offense is A) no turnovers B) no turnovers and C) burn some clock. They did just that. The defense only needed to make Seattle have to work a little bit for whatever they got, and for the most part, they did that.

I would have preferred that the offense stay on the throttle as the second half began, but we got the win in the end and that's all that matters. They lead this game by at least two scores for about 57 of the 60 minutes. Can't ask for much more than that.

Holy cow what a game. the 1st half was AWESOME.

i honestly thought we'd of learned our lessons from the NYG, INDY, GB games....can't believe we didn't get a single point in the 2nd half. that's all we needed was one freakin score.....as elated as i was in the first half, i was equally nervous in the 2nd half. at the end of the day, we beat the bully again...and it felt great.

NFC title in the Queen City!!!! Keep Pounding. Go Panthers.

Panthers have been the best in the league all year.
Don't choke. Jeez, hope I didn't jinx ya :dance2:

Let me know if anyone knows of some extra tickets for sale

I got online at 7pm Sunday night to look for tickets just for fun. Didn't get even an option to purchase they were gone so fast, but nosebleeds started at $123 plus fees. Demand is high. Prices will be higher. Good luck.

I would have totally paid $123 plus fees! I'm considering possibly thinking about the idea of maybe driving to Charlotte just to tailgate and then go watch the game at the Epicenter.
If it was the earlier game, I really would do it.

Moving on to the Cardinals, I'm quite worried!
Finnegan and McClain are such liabilities, and this is not the team to have weak corners against. With Allen potentially being out, we are going to have to get some sort of a push from somewhere. I guess Ealy and Addison will rotate, and we'll need Short to have a big day.
Above all else, we'll need our high-powered offense to keep its foot on the pedal for 60 minutes. Could be a very high-scoring game.
Can Benwikere and Tillman not suck it up for just one more game?

The only QB's that gave Carolina problems this season were the mobile QB's, the ones that can buy time scrambling with their feet. That's not Carson Palmer's game. Looking further ahead, that's not Manning's or Brady's game either. The Cardinal WR's pose a significant problem, but I like our chances to get after Palmer and get him off his game. I trust in our ability to shut down their running game. Offensively, I like our chances of running the ball effectively, especially running towards Buchanon who is a very undersized LB. Peterson will probably line up against Ginn, so Funchess, Brown, and Olsen will be the primary receiving threats. We know what we'll get from Olsen so Brown and Funchess need to be on point. Should be a great game.

for me, this game is definitely the toughest match up.

1. defensively for AZ, they have shown, last week not withstanding, the ability to stop the run. they have a good front, and can slow down a traditional running game.
2. there will be opportunities in the passing game...they have a hole in their secondary.
3. offensively for AZ, we know what kind of problems they present, but if you go back and watch Palmer against pressure defenses, when the lights are brightest, he's folded. the Steelers made him look very pedestrian back in the day. i think we have enough in our front 7 to do the same.

this game will be won based on a couple things...

1. can AZ stop our run game?
2. Can we get pressure on Palmer?
3. he who makes the least mistakes stands a very good chance of winning.

this is a great match up, and i think both teams probably feel they have the tools to win.

Remember that the team Matt Ryan QBs beat us. Eli Manning and Drew Brees also got very close.

I think it's a fair point. The Panthers seem to get guys there, but if someone gets outside of the pocket, we break down and allow big plays. Palmer looked very subpar last week against a far inferior defense to the Panthers. As long as the offense can move the ball against their defense, I am confident.

there's no doubt that our issues in teh secondary are problematic when playing teams like this.

now add to the fact that we just got a little thinner up front with Allen getting hurt, it's going to be very interesting to see how we decide to pressure the QB. especially as the game goes on. possibly losing allen = more reps being spread out. could be a tired defensive front late.

so i think CSM will have to blitz maybe a little more than usual. and when they do, they better get there.

i just don't trust our secondary to hold up all game long going against their offense.

now, offensively....we absolutely have to be able to run the ball. limit their possessions and just make plays when they present.

and good Lord, if there's an opportunity to get turnovers....gotta capitalize on those.....can't drop int's or not fall on the ball if fumbled.

this game should make us nervous. this is a tough match up all the way around.

i think we have an advantage inside, and against a non mobile qb, i think that has to be where the difference is made. they have a huge advantage outside.....

I tried as well! Didn't have any luck.

Ron Jaworski says Seattel should have scored 50 on us.

WArren Moon says Palmer could throw for 500 yards on us.

everyone says our secondary is terrible....which it is. there's only 1 josh norman, just about everyone else is a ?. granted.

it's all about pressure and Palmer. one thing i can say after listening to some of this stuff.....all the pressure is squarely on AZ.....i'm sure they'll be some that pick us.

but i think the majority of people are going to look at our secondary and just write us off.

that's fine. Go Panthers.
