I will feel alright about our offensive line if Oher comes back. Gotta believe that Ryan was straight up with Gettleman about his brother. I'm feeling optimistic about Matt.
Peppers is coming home and we also signed Russell Shepard, who I really like. I wish there were legs to the Patterson rumor but I'm afraid they are all bunk.
I really wish we could have landed Church or Cyprien.

Like the Peppers signing a lot, and I feel like it allows DE to be addressed later in the draft. Hoping Jamal Adams somehow falls to 8. After that, BPA...

Panthers have been very active. Could safely go any direction at #8 after filling the current holes. I'd love to see Fournette in Carolina.

They paid Matt Kalil like he lived up to his draft slot, when by pretty much all accounts he was a massive bust...I don't understand who they were even bidding against

The rumor is that they now want to package picks to move up and ensure that they can land Fournette. Otherwise, I think we go Thomas/Barnett and then look for Perine with that NE pick.

I'm all in on Howard at 8. I think he was underutilized at Bama, and can be a game-changer. Question now is, does he even last that long? He's shooting up the draft boards.

It won't be Howard. I really don't see that happening unless Allen, Thomas, Adams, Fournette are all gone. Even then, Ross or Hooker could be higher on our list.

They again, you can probably find dozens of times I was dead-wrong throughout this thread.

Interesting that you don't have Jamal Adams or Solomon Thomas listed at all.
Jeremy Igo lists out about four players every year as the list the Panthers will go down on draft night. He's been right on our first pick the last three years. Earlier this week he released a short list for this year.

Howard
He said just mark the names off of this list as their picked, but this is the list they'll use and in this order. I believe him. He always seems to be right about our first pick.

Don't like them as much as the guys I listed and think they're mid to late first kind of players. Just my two cents, of course. The good thing about being at 8 is that a really really good player will be there, regardless of what happens in front of us in the order. Can't wait for the draft to get here.

Agreed. I don't care who it is for, I do not want to trade up for anyone! This talk about us moving up to 2 for Fournette makes me uneasy.

Me too. Stay put. I am not a Cam fan, despite being a Panthers fan since we got the franchise...but him and Fournette would make a sick backfield. Read option ...I remember when the Panthers unveiled the team logo and i bought a bootleg tee and Hoodie like the next day on South Blvd in charlotte. Was so excited. Hope we can get on a roll again thus year like in 15...

Someone was speculating that moving up to 2 wouldn't really be for Fournette, as rumored, but for Myles Garrett if Cleveland takes Trubisky instead. I know Garrett isn't on the list, but I'd be fine with that

Howard (elite TE prospect, who can be groomed under Olsen and can cause Gronk-like matchup nightmares)

if there are any serious trades in the 1st round, it better not involve the panthers. they're all but assured of eithe rgetting CM, LF, or DB at 8. and i'd be happy with any of the three.

even a team like Cleveland should sit still. i just don't think NYJ will actually take a qb at 6. there's just not one worthy of that high a pick. if anything, i'd expect anyone 2-10 to try to trade back and gather up some picks. just don't see the need to trade up, really, for anyone.

i'll laugh like hell though if CLE trades up to 5....

i mean really, is there really a qb in this class that you look at and say Oh yeah, he's head and shoulders bettter than the other guys in this class? so what if you don't get MT....take Watson or Mahommes.

i digress. i don't want to trade up to 2 either.

I've decided that the only think I'm really hoping for tonight is that we actually pick at 8. What we'd have to give up to move up to 2 or 3 is NOT worth it.
And anybody that would be there at 8 will be a great addition to the team.

Still think the move to 2 would be for Garrett, and still fine with that. Carolina has needed a defensive end for years now

if Garrett is available, SF gonna have some decisions to make in a very short amount of time.

there's a line that shouldn't be crossed for that trade. especially considering how much other talent would still be available after that pick.

and you'd be betting that SF would take Garrett...and i do think they would.

God, that'd be awesome if Cle did take MT first overall....:eek:lol:
