This morning has me wondering how Freak is dealing with all of the Report notices on Fossilfiction’s cornbread statements.

You sound like my brother that said he did like Sweet Tea.

Sure, who likes Sweet Tea when they have only been offered Bad Sweet Tea all their life?

Until I was married I had only been offered Bad Sweet Tea. I didn’t care for Bad Sweet Tea either. Then my world changed and I went on a crusade to right the wrong that me and my siblings had to endure.

Don’t stop trying Potata Salad until you try my Sister In Law’s. Who knew how few know how to make it?

My experience has been, if a drink or meal is prepared wrong or an ingredient is ruined, don’t judge all by that one attempt(I hope I never try Mayonaise Meatloaf again. It has the flavor of what a dumpster smells like.)

Cornbread is mysterious. You notice by most accounts you eat it WITH something that is delicious on its own or you add the right amount of seasoning or butter.

Not too many are eating cornbread like Sniker Bars. Once you have been offered some properly prepared, properly dressed cornbread you should see it’s value.

It’s best for adding to a runny dish(soup, chili, beans, greens, etc.) to soak up the juice to make it easier to eat and it’s a great filler.

To say “Cornbread sucks” means you have been doing it wrong.

Even a bad cornbread with the right amount of honey tasted like a dessert. I guarantee that.

I sure miss my Momma’s Bad Sweet Tea.

If it helps, I like unsweetened tea. I can assure you that I have had my fair share of cornbread growing up, all sorts of variations and partner food combinations. It just doesn't do it for me at all.

Grandma's cornbread and SOUP BEANS... All these other beans mentioned are just that, beans. You or your grandma must be from way back in time and place (like me and mine) to even know about soup beans. They are the greatest..... (along with place and time)

Knoxville... always has been a little "yankee" (reference war between the states). Now this post may let you "off the hook" for not liking cornbread. By the way, congratulations for the post creating the most response for the year.

Ok, so far, this is the best off season thread ever. And being from Knoxville living in Maryland, this is what i'd do for some down home cornbread....

Imagine the blow up if he had dissed gravy and biscuits. Things would have gotten seriously ugly.
