Can we please get a GIF of this...

If it helps, I like unsweetened tea. I can assure you that I have had my fair share of cornbread growing up, all sorts of variations and partner food combinations. It just doesn't do it for me at all.

No that doesn’t help. Tea was an example and doesn’t really have anything to do with whether cornbread sucks or not. Now that you have backed down from it “sucks” to “it just doesn’t do it” for you, there is nothing else to discuss about cornbread.

Okay man. I am thinking you are taking this way too seriously. I didn't back down from anything and I still think it sucks, hence it doesn't do it for me. If you really want to get bent out of shape because a food doesn't resonate with someone then that is your choice. Enjoy your day.

You seem more passionate about cornbread than me. Who hates cornbread?

Only on VolNation would we spend 5+ pages ranting about why someone doesn't like cornbread.

For the most part this thread has been hilarious. The love for cornbread is strong in Volnation. I notice the four guys who agreed have been silent. Wimps! :D

with out cornbread, fried taters and soup beans,I would have been stunted during my growing years

you wanted a snack it was usually cornbread in a glass of milk :)

I grew up where my grandmother made fresh cornbread & hog lard biscuits for supper every night, I'm talking the white cornmeal poured into piping hot iron skillet which sizzled and put on a crunch that while baking made it that much better. If all folks have ever eaten is pan baked yellow meal cornbread like you had in school, they've never eaten the good ol' Tennessee my granny chews Garrett snuff on a twig white meal in a skillet cornbread and I feel sorry for them.

Actually no. Not liking Cornbread is a pretty good indicator that you have no soul and probably don't love your momma.

Had a preacher one time say, from the pulpit, that he didn't like the Andy Griffith show. He didn't last much longer.

I've heard folks in restaurants order "sweet tea" and I would always think to myself, "Hell, is there any other kind?".

West of Arkansas, no there isnt.

We had a party once in Wyoming, and I trusted some numbnut from SC to make the sweet tea. how do you **** that up?

WTF is CPJ?

CPJ is the Committee to Protect Journalists not to be confused with Chanderprabhu Jain because most people make that mistake.

(Whatever you do, don't look up the Urban Dictionary definition for it because it is vulgar, crass, and low brow, etc.)

So I'll go on record as a Pro-Cornbreader but I am shocked that I didn't see any mattresses burning over his favorite band "Alabama"

My grandmaw used buttermilk and mayonaise in her cornbread and heated bacon grease in the cast iron skillet to start the crispy crust as soon as the batter hit the skillet as it went into the oven. I bet a certain poster's grandma probably used boxed cornbread mix in a glass casserole. Now he doesn't like it.
