California Lunacy Thread

Both Marxist and authoritarian leadership can be bad. I lean more right than left but I can see neither party is in a healthy place. Believing one is better than the other is just of the problem. We should demand we have neither. But the tribalism perpetuates this wild swing back and forth.

You are making a faux argument. You insinuate they agreed to meet in the middle like a boxing match. Law enforcement went to do the job they were hired to do. There is no negotiation here to be had.

Your logic is feckless George W thinking.

My argument isn't on a singular topic here. It's a comment on the current state of our political reality.

There is no faux argument.

I'm not completely against Trump having NG gaurd federal property and even employees if needed.

But I think he was stupid to enter into it. It would have 100% been Newsomes problem. Now he has given the left a narrative that is gaining traction.

This isn't a your with with me or against me........... Our reality is much more nuanced and complicated. Trump is horrible , the left is horrible. Both things can be true at the same time. And saying one it the other didn't mean you slurp with the partisans.

"Sure to please, our Red Roof scent is an exotic and playful blend of old cigarettes, stale malt beverages, Lysol, and black mold. Like an old Gypsy lady with a crystal ball down at the flea market, it draws in that special someone and foretells of a passionate night in the near future and a mysterious burning sensation in the nether regions shortly thereafter. "

Daddy always got us the nice, non smoking room. 😂

U.S. District Judge Charles R. Breyer issued the decision Thursday, siding with Governor Gavin Newsom and ordering Trump to return control of the Guard to the state "forthwith."

"His actions were illegal—both exceeding the scope of his statutory authority and violating the Tenth Amendment to the United States Constitution," Breyer wrote. "He must therefore return control of the California National Guard to the Governor of the State of California forthwith."

"Federalism is not optional," the ruling states. "Even the president cannot legislate by fiat."

Defendants are temporarily ENJOINED from deploying members of the California National Guard in Los Angeles," the ruling states. "Defendants are DIRECTED to return control of the California National Guard to Governor Newsom

Appeals Court then issued TRO. Hearing on the 17th.

It was all planned with in minutes democrats had talking points and bloviating on Capitol hill.
Yep!

But in reality, that's how security is supposed to work. You show up, uninvited (a la crossing the border), act like an idiot, get bounced. It's not a hard concept.

But, yes, it was staged.

Yeah, I was wondering why he was allowed to walk away after throwing something at the guards. No way there's a pro police or pro-america guy within 10 miles of that place

Dumb ruling that doesn’t stand a chance of being upheld.

Edit: This was appellate court. I have never seen an appellate decision go this fast (less than 24 hours).

They're not by definition an invading force.
Yes it is....armed people from a foreign territory, hostile internet, damage and destruction and now that Mexican leadership has supported it, we have conquest and occupation...where am I wrong in the definition of an invading force..the riots and Mexican government support meet several requirements.
