California Lunacy Thread

I’m going for this one. Everybody’s house needs a Signature Scent.

Honest to God, I’m worried about Nashville. What in Hades is up with that town?

I wear a ton of state and Liberty which is in green hills. Might be the most high end mall in the country. Omega, breitling, Louis all on just one wing and a Tiffany on the others.

At 1:30 PM West Coast time today, a CA federal court will hear Newsom's plea to essentially neuter Trump's federalist power grab.

Honestly, who knows what the judge will find. But, I've gotta back the screw-Trump ruling... The fireworks would be spectacular if the state of CA wins and Donnie's rightfully put back in his corner. That drunk Hedgseth would have to slither back into his bourbon barrel.

Even @hog88 is on board with this one, as much as it pains him.

State's rights, anyone?
I have no doubt the liberal CA judge will rule for Newsom. I also have no doubt that ruling will be overturned.

CA is one messed up place..one huge regulatory state..I wonder how the fire rebuild is doing.
GROK:

The Palisades Fire, which devastated Pacific Palisades in January 2025, destroyed 6,837 structures, including over 5,500 homes. As of the latest available data from May 2025, rebuilding efforts have been slow due to permitting delays, insurance challenges, and debris removal issues. Here’s a summary of the rebuilding progress:
  • Permits Issued: By March 25, 2025, only four permits had been issued for rebuilding homes in Pacific Palisades. By April 19, 2025, this number increased to 12 permits. By May 26, 2025, 11 permits were reported, though this may reflect inconsistencies in reporting or a slight decline in active permits

  • Homes Under Construction: Specific cases highlight progress. For example, the Lopes family had their home under construction by April 2025, one of the first to break ground, due to expedited permitting for rebuilding an identical structure. As of April 28, 2025, 20 rebuilding permits had been issued, with work underway at several sites, though none were as advanced as the Lopes’ home

  • Challenges: Rebuilding is hindered by slow permitting processes, with Los Angeles City Councilwoman Traci Park noting the low permit numbers as “concerning” 75 days post-fire. Additionally, only about 500 homes (less than 10% of those destroyed) had completed portions of debris removal by March 23, 2025. Insurance payouts often fall short of rebuilding costs, forcing some families to pay out of pocket or abandon rebuilding.

Estimate of Rebuilt Homes: As of June 12, 2025, no specific data confirms fully rebuilt and occupied homes. Given the 10-month construction timeline cited for the Lopes’ home (started in April 2025), it’s likely that no homes are fully rebuilt yet, though 20 or fewer homes may be under active construction based on permits issued by April 28, 2025

CA is solely attempting to limit any armed forces (NG and Marines) to protect federal property - not to engage in any local law enforcement actions.

They're right. Only if Trump proclaims an insurrection does the calculus change.

I think CA prevails... Probably.
Isn't that their current capacity though?

Again, you can't truly at your core believe this. You're just caught up in the hyperbole of American political discourse. Where simple sound bites are shot like daggers and achieve nothing but having two sides screaming at each for the being the worst when they're both absolutely horrible.
The neo-marxist party is thousands times worse than any far right party. You have to have twist worst than a pretzel to justify they're the same.

Nah, the best store they'll "protest" will be a 7-11.
Some of those protesters have been protesting for days straight, how are they not fired from their job? I guess it shows they're being paid quite well by the leftist groups.

They are waiting for all the slave labor jobs the deported illegals take.

But Signature Scents including a Hotel Collection? I’m wondering about the one for a Motel 6 or Red Roof Inn.

No idea and you are gonna laugh but I miss the smell of red roof inns from the 80s. We were kinda poor and we stayed at a lot of red roof inns. The air conditioner mixed with the carpet cleaner back then put out a certain smell. Makes me miss those days.

I might check this out and use it in my bathroom if they got a plug in.

Yeah…..I got issues.

That smell was a mixture of nasty hooker cooch and Aqua Velva.

"Sure to please, our Red Roof scent is an exotic and playful blend of old cigarettes, stale malt beverages, Lysol, and black mold. Like an old Gypsy lady with a crystal ball down at the flea market, it draws in that special someone and foretells of a passionate night in the near future and a mysterious burning sensation in the nether regions shortly thereafter.
