Butch says it takes 6 to 7 years to build a program in the SEC

All hail the undisputed recruiting champ. Let me know when and where we have the parade
LOL y'all have no logic about you. It's amazing to me the level of ignorance by some of our fans. I'll give you a $1000 if you can find a post where I said he was the best recruiter or the champ as you stated. So come on and show me to be wrong withj facts.

If after reading your posts you don't think the comparison to Jim Jones and Butch Jones isn't funny....well? :loco:

Hundreds of women and children force-fed poison in a mass suicide? Yeah...hilarious.

Maybe you had to be there...too bad you missed it buddy. :wink2:

If you understood Jim Jones I wouldn't be laughing at you. There's no worship of Jones by me. It's making fun of y'all for idiotic statements. I do the same in NCAA threads that don't involve UT at all. Y'all make it easy.

Most of us have figured out that almost anything that comes out of his mouth is BS coach speak

No one will take this seriously, as they shouldn't. Butch doesn't even believe it.

Remember, we are talking about the guy who said "Best Staff in America"

He may have meant to say "Best Recruiting Staff in America."

So, do you give a lecture to everyone that uses the phrase, "drink the Koolaid?" If not, STFU! :good!:

Make it easy? No, what makes it easy is when people put the coach before the program. There were people on here just like you that defended Dools to the end.

The expectation is a NC.

The expectation at Stanford when Harbaugh got there was definitely not the National Championship. They had 5 straight losing seasons. The year before Harbaugh got there, they were 1-11. He took them from 1-11 to 12-1 in 4 years.

Nfl record 13-3, 11-4-1(nfccg), 12-4(sb loss), 8-8.

If you are simply adding up the years, then yes... 4 and 5. However if you start with an empty tank you are putting more of your true freshman on the field than is ideal in the early years.

I'll take it as TN will continue to build up a deeper, more experienced, mature roster for 7 years. After that, you're just bringing them in and filling spots created by graduating players.

One other variable to consider... every class is not equal. Some classes will not be as good as earlier groups so it's not a linear path with annual upgrades to the roster.

So many of these dolt "fans" just want to attack every little insignificant spin coming out of the coach's mouth. Never mind if the excellent recruiting classes are rolling in or that the team is now way more competitive with every opponent... it's better to whine endlessly about every play call, substitution, and nugget of coach speak.

I will not argue that the recruiting has been phenomenal and on field performance better than years past. I still question player development at some positions, namely OL and WR and to a lesser extent QB this year. Dobbs' passing ability has seemed to regress under DeBord from Bajakian.

Of course you're right. And did I say Jones was the only one who knew how to recruit? That's right I didn't. But I do know this, he has a track record that shows he knows a helluva lot more than you. Y'all cry about records. Well how is his record in recruiting?

:lolabove:

You and others were attacking me a few weeks ago for saying a coach could control injuries... now Hubbs has reported that Jones is going to change the pace of practice to prevent more injuries.

I've complimented Jones quite a bit... but you only see the criticisms because that's all you CAN see. I have also predicted the guy reasonably well... like above.

"Cry about records"? So records shouldn't matter? What exactly should we say or believe because of his "recruiting record" if it doesn't produce wins?

Again, you can't even bring yourself to a point of even questioning his "perfections".

Florida recruiting: 247 rankings

2009- #7 (4th in SEC)- 4 (5*) and 7 (4*)

2010- #1- 5 (5*) and 17 (4*)

2011- #11 (5th in SEC)- 1 (5*) and 11 (4*)

2012- #4 (2nd in SEC)- 2 (5*) and 13 (4*)

2013- #3 (2nd in SEC)- 2 (5*) and 13 (4*)

2014- #9 (7th in SEC)- 1 (5*) and 8 (4*)

2015- #21 (10th in SEC)- 2 (5*) and 3 (4*)

Yeah Florida has no talent at all. It ALL depends on coaching. All those 4 and 5* players have nothing to do with it. I mean McElwain walked into a roster filled to the brim with Sun Belt level talent. Yes he has done a good job, but dont make it sound like he walked into a bare cupboard and had to basically rebuild it all.

Have you researched attrition, non-enrollees and "busts"? I can post Dooley's top 15 classes on paper up there too and you'll argue how many left or never made an impact. The same has to be done for UF. On another note, the 2009 and 10 classes have nothing to do with Mac, he's not inheriting kids from 6 years ago.

His completion % dropped a little, but his YPA, TDS, QBR and ADJ QBR went up and Interceptions went down.

Sacks went up too.

Not really a big negative.

The guy takes himself much too serious to laugh at himself.

The "logic" he expresses here comes much closer to a cult follower than a sports fan. He goes off even at the mildest criticism of Jones. Kind of creepy really.

I remember addressing one of your manifestos on that...saying I was confident that Butch would take everything in consideration and adjust. We were BOTH right! :w00t:
