Butch says it takes 6 to 7 years to build a program in the SEC

None of this means crap if he doesn't recruit consistently

Alabama has been in the top 5 in recruiting almost every year since Saban has been there

He can't have bad recruiting years and stay in the talent

It's beginning to look like our legacy players helped out more than some people may be inclined to believe

Vic Wharton tearing it up

i think there is some truth to the legacy players really helping our recruiting classes. look at this 2016 class it's weak and ain't gonna help much.

That was back in the days when they could have 105 on scholarship and could sign as many as they wanted and nobody really paid attention.

This.

All I will add to this discussion is one question.

If I told you a coach in the SEC would have a 2 win increase every year and would be poised to get to 11 wins if that continued by year 4 would you call them a success or failure?

Allowing for a bowl win that is where we are.

The proof is in the pudding next year for everyone because we are poised for amazing amazing things. Why not chill for one more off season and then judge?

The "legacy player" crutch has become the new life preserver for Negavols. They jumped early on the foolish "Butch Jones can't recruit in the SEC" absolute and have been scrambling for a purchase after the last two classes. Now they have a faint light that they're dashing like porch flies towards...ZAP! Our established stars/leaders are Dobbs,Barnett,JRM,Sutton,Hurd,Kirkland and possibly Kamara. Which one of those players has a daddy or a momma that starred at Tennessee? Anybody can type words, people...try harder! :wavey:

That offense Florida has is not good and CJM has maximized their potential through scheme. They have one legitimate NFL prospect at receiver. I don't see NFL talent on that side of the ball. I don't see the pass-rushers or linebackers they have had in the past either though it is a good group with Bullard being the only true standout. DB's are really good/great, RB's are serviceable.

Scheme or performance enhancing drugs? What happened to that scheme when Will was removed?

I need to mix a "prediction" into this thread....

We go 10-2 regular season losing @ TAMU and home vs Bama. We lose SECCG and win bowl game finishing 11-3.

People will still say that opportunity is nowhere.

if your right, I think we play in Atlanta for SECC. 2 losses to the west opponents will win the East...

which is why you have three losses.

Not kidding

They helped recruit just as much as the staff

Do you not remember all the twitter noise from guys like Wharton, McKenzie, the Berry's?

Byron Moore. Oh wait...

The fact they're legacy players is irrelevant to them helping recruit. It's done at lots of places
