I'm not talking about the neighborhoods like Flag Stone with hundreds and hundreds of houses or ever the Hampton Creek neighborhood (with the golf course) with fairly small yards. Plenty of great places in Ooltewah with quite a few acres, while still being "Ooltewah worthy". I personally wouldn't like to live in Mountain Shadows out in East Brainerd or Flag Stone.

Ooltewah has much of the same - just more imo - plus it's closer to Knoxville and the mall.

Soddy Daisy is just too in the middle of no where for me and I hate the drive - you can find that in Ooltewah as well though if you desire. Plus - to top it off - Soddy Daisy... the name itself just makes me want to stay as far away as possible.

Obviously your idea of what "gross" means differs from mine.

Your accent must run much thicker than mine. :p

I'm all for country and redneck - but to a certain degree. I couldn't handle some of the folk in 'Saawwdy' Daisy. Plus I couldn't stand Soddy fans at sporting events. They are passionate though.

I know, and I think you're the man to make this happen... Of course with my help.

i do love beer. but i am serious. we have some nation members close by. i know you, me, and the dude are within paper airplane distance of each other. i would bet we even get groceries at the same place. i have always been interested in meeting members around town.

Stupid.

Maybe I do have an accent, but I don't think it's that heavy, and it's definitely not when compared to others. Either way, if someone doesn't like the way I speak, they can kiss my ___.

My preference for Soddy has nothing to do with me loving "Saawwdy". It wouldn't even be my first couple of choices for places to live in Hamilton County. I just like the natural setting up there much more than Signal or concrete Ooltewah, with it's opulence of white vans highlighted by stick figure decals detailing their family tree and Ian's soccer club magnet.

And at least the "Saawwdy" hicks are genuine. In Ooltewah you have a bunch of faux rednecks in camo caps driving around in brand new Tahoes with a ski racks and Nalgene bottles that'll never see a hiking trail.

Learn to take a joke.

But looks like you get your feelings hurt way too easily.

Concrete? - I suppose if state construction along the exit makes it concrete, then sure.

You obviously haven't been past the high school if that's your perception of Ooltewah - did you visit Ooltewah 15 years ago - 10? even 5? I've met some real country people out in Ooltewah (more so than Soddy) that have lived there forever... there's just less of them. Why not take the best of both worlds?

And it's not my fault the East Brainerd kids/families get associated with Ooltewah. Most of the kids that attend OHS don't even live in Ooltewah. A majority of the younger families in that area just getting started can't always afford the costs so your generalizations are wrong.

I'll take over sized houses with 5-15 acres of land (once again - not referring to the "Flag Stones" of Ooltewah) on the mountain or a house on the lake over driving 10 minutes to see my next door neighbor... and the gently rolling hills on the way from Soddy to downtown that will lull you to sleep on your drive.

And if Soddy, Signal, and Ooltewah aren't your first few preferences in Hamilton county - then what are?

Yeah - shame on them for getting a good education and being successful. I guess if you start out as a true 'redneck', but become wealthy, you're immediately dismissed from the ranks.

I can take jokes easily, but please, you went on and on in that post about who red "Saawwdy" is.

I'd live on Missionary Ridge or somewhere off Riverside downtown over those places.

I normally go to the Signal Mountain Walmart.
Anyway, distance wouldn't be a problem...
It'd be tougher to keep these two from getting us kicked out of whatever place we're in...

No, shame on them for acting like something they're not. They're no better than "Trustafarians" you see on a college campus or hipsters you see in a big city. Fake.

Not really anything like 60 acres out on Soddy.

No, shame on them for acting like something they really despise. They're no better than "Trustafarians" you see on a college campus or hipsters you see in a big city. Fake.

And you know this how? Because rednecks can't have successful careers?

I don't normally hang out in bars. I could see us doing a Buffalo Wild Wings or something like that. I have a friend at the Northgate BWW...
Normally, hang out at friends house/man cave when I'm not too busy working or in Knoxville for the games...

And I kept going on and on?

I said:
1) It's in the middle of no where (can't really dispute that and it's a preference thing)
2) I can't stand their fans at sporting events but they're passionate.
3) Thicker accents.
4) Don't like the location (in relation to the mall and Knoxville)
5) Don't like the name.

Nothing really completely fiction or overly offensive from what I can see.

Please point out to me where I stated that was my only preference.

You didn't but you did say you would prefer Soddy > Signal/Ooltewah. But that's far closer to the "Mcneighborhoods" or whatever you called them than the 60 acres of land.
