Build Team Like Cristobal Built the U

Easier said than done. Heupel has built UT to be a fast, finesse team. Physicality isn't his thing and it appears to be foreign to the vast majority of our roster. We're in a pretty deep hole at the moment.
This is what a lot of people do not see, CJH inherited a physical team and he transition this team to a finesse and Fast team. Finesse does not cut it in the SEC or with the big boys. On the LOS we have gotten away from "power" football and it shows.

Can you back that up without using Vol Nation posts?

Yes. Go listen to postgame shows and 105.7 Knoxville radio every Monday after gamedays. There are plenty of callers who have talked about Heupel’s lazy and sloppy approach to the season all year long.

Hell even non Tennessee commentators like Klatt and Barstool college shows have said it.

I’m not going to link all 10 postgame and Monday shows from FanRun but here’s a link to their YouTube page. Just go find the postgame and Monday shows.

Watching them play their coaching and their players and player assessment of the recruits is night and day compared to our team!! Love watching a defense who can actually lay the lumber to somebody one-on-one not two secondary guys missing one guy in the open field like we do unbelievable talent gap!! I hope one day our coaching and our talent gets that good but it's not even close!!

They played a good game against OSU. But this Miami team hasn’t been that good all year. They lost to unranked Duke and Louisville. People take one game and make crazy assumptions.

Perhaps misguided assumptions were made after the losses to Duke and Louisville. They just beat A&M on the road and OSU. They certainly have next level talent. They certainly are playing their best ball right now when it matters most

I’ve never seen an offense go 3 and out quicker than we do. It’s truly remarkable.

Well it starts with the head coach. There is no doubt that Mario has the fire to win at his Alma mater.

These playoff game just continue to show how uninvested Heupel appeared in games this season.

I know he isn’t the rah rah personality but he never once this year seemed to exhibit intensity and passion on the sidelines.

Mario chewed out the sec refs last night more in one game than I think Heupel did in 8 games.
Hate to say it but the majority of coaches that are great and motivate are in shape, and exercise themselves!! I mean look at him He's lazy big old turkey neck completely out of shape

No. Not really. We are one of the top running teams every year. That's definitely a physical trait. Our offensive line was pretty good and VERY young. It will be a strength next year.

We were let down by a weak defense. We had 5 defensive starters on the bench on and off for most of the year and didn't have the depth to cover. It was bad enough to cost some coaches their jobs. WE had 3 (three) offensive possessions in the first half of the bowl game. That means the defense couldn't stop the other team at all. If we had gotten more possessions, we probably would have won.

Our last problem will also plague us next year. QB. For the third year in a row, we will most like be starting out with a brand new QB. It hurts my brain to try and think of the last team that won a title with a new QB. Maybe JA gets to come back, or maybe we just roll with our new 5 star.

Lastly, major changes have been made to the defensive coaching staff. We have no idea what the defense will look like next year.

I suspect that next year will be much different from this year.
