We(as in UT) don't want Buddy Green. He is bend don't break to the max. However Southern Miss and ECU broke us(as in Navy) bad, real bad.

Navy is a tough place to coach and RECRUIT to because most of the time, when they step on the field the deck is stacked against them. If there is anyone in the country that can flat coach when when the odds are against us it is Buddy Green. He's a journeyman coach that has been other places besides Navy.

I for one welcome his hire as DC!!

Obviously your a relative of this guy or a navy alum. Dooley has to make a PR splash with this hire and Buddy doesnt do it. I respect what hes doing at Navy but this is a much different ballgame in the sec.

You said it all when you said he's a jouneyman. Imo, he is a journeyman because he is just good enough to find jobs, but not good enough to keep or get elite jobs. jmo.

Well if it does turn out to be BG (not til the dotted line is signed) I'm glad to hear that LT is happy with him. The players really like LT, so we need him to be on board as much as anyone to help the transition.

Personally we don't need the hire to be a splash at the expense of quality. RS would be a splash, but nothing pts to him being a success for us. We have a lot of good players committed to us that are just making sure that we get a solid guy that will bring the best out of them and that's something BG can do. It's not like we will have a bunch of guys dropping their commitments to come to UT just because RS came here. We probably wont lose any if we get BG here, so that's fine with me.

If UT hires Buddy Green as DC, you all have a great life. I will personally be hanging up on the Tennessee Vols. All the resources that UT has, and this is the best they can do.

GIVE ME A BREAK!!!!!!!!!!! I've been pro-Dooley since the beginnning, but a Navy DC seems like taking 2 steps back. This will be the choice that boots Dooley's ass out the door. God, I hope this rumor doesn't happen.

Im not sure how we can assume wont lose any commitments with buddy. Is that really gona put confidence into santos and mcneil. we should just hire thompson if this is the best we can do.

I hope for CDD's sake that he was just being congenial with interviewing Green. Hopefully, that's just it, and the media is running wild with yet another rumor.

I'd rather have Steele.

At least after our opponents hang 70 on us we know he will still be able to sell some total BS to some stud LB the next morning.

We may lose one, but it wont be Santos. He's an East TX kid that really does want to be at UT. I'm sure the type of discipline that BG brings will be very intriguing to many parents. And like 2inthedry stated, LT was pumped about the possibility. If it's true then we shouldn't have the issues you are concerned about. Like I said in another post LT is definitely very important in this next hire. He needs to feel he isn't getting a slap in the face by the hire or he is gone. If not gone this yr then next yr which would be bad too cause he will have a yr of undermining if he wants to go that route.

I mentioned before that we may lose out on a guy or 2, but the good thing about BG is that he has experience in bring out the best in whoever he is handed. Which is a positive thing. Just all IMHO of course...
