Bryce Brown Gone

on the team, it is my job to coach. Now if DD doesn't believe he needs to get the current members of this team behind him by recruiting them to his system and way he is a fool. "itis not my job to recruit guys already on the team, its my job to coach them".....spoken like a 4-8 coach, who just lost his number 1 recruit from the previous year. By the way you guys who are saying this isn't a loss no big deal Oku is not big enough to be a fulltime back and what happens if Poole goes down. just stupid!

If he stays thats great but if he leaves who cares. He obviously didnt come to knoxville bc of his desire to play for UT. He came for Kiffin. IMO our best option at tailback is Tauren Poole anyways.:pepper:

Why are you people freaking out? He's skilled; he's going to be a good RB somewhere. But he was billed as an elite back; comparisons to Herschel Freaking Walker were thrown around. Guys like Walker and Adrian Peterson and Emmitt Smith and even Jamal Lewis don't take a year or two to develop; you know it immediately. And nothing Brown did last year indicated that he's going to be in that class.

He's still likely to be a good back, but his ceiling looks considerably lower than it did when we signed him. It's a loss, but not a crippling one, and at a position at which we can most easily afford one. Vaya con Dios, Brown. Have fun in the dustbowl.

In reality, most of us are freaking out because we're being deprived of the news we need. We're addicts without a fix. :dance2:

Step back from the ledge..........scratch that, please jump forward

Dooley must not have stroked Brown's ego enough to keep him happy. Hopefully, the other studs don't get mad and leave.

Dear Bryce Brown...don't let the door hit you in the a**!

If he goes to USC, Mike Hamilton, Bruce Pearl, Pat Summit and every single person at Athletics Department must contact the NCAA to look into tampering on Lame and Ogre's part.

Who care what he does? I wish him well, but if you don't bleed orange you need to leave. Isn't that what we had for head coach last year, a half-hearted vol who left us in the lurch? Good luck BB but don't let the door hit you in the @. Tennessee was here before you got here and they'll be here when you're gone.

sinking faster than the titanic

Brown only played because of being the #1 RB recruit. Poole and Williams showed much more ability in practice and games.

"I was a little surprised, but you can only control what you can control," Dooley said. "He went through the entire offseason, but I also think that this wasn't something from the last three weeks. But I'm not here to recruit. I'm here to coach."

Well, if you don't plan on recruiting, you won't have to worry about coaching here very long.

I find it sad.... that some of the posters on here seem like they enjoy this news just so they can justify in their simple minds that DD sucks.

SCREW HIM>>> Get the F^%$ out of Knoxville we don't want a loser, who is going to tuck his tail and run... I bet Dooley said your going to have to win your spot and he said no... HE is too small anyway.. We have better backs... GO VOLS

Great job of almost making that work. Unfortunately, his stellar recruiting history (equal to LK's btw) prooves he knows otherwise and you are taking out of context. I'm embarassed for you if you truly think that's what he was saying. Cmon buddy, he's an intelligent man.

Kiffin's probably been calling him nonstop for the last few days to get him to visit the coast.

Dooley's meaning was that he isn't here to re-recruit our existing players, but I'm sure you already know that since you seemed to have intentionally removed the "(players on the team)" part of that quote.

You have a serious man-crush on Dooley.

That's the entire quote of the article I read, but yeah, thanks.

Does a 17-20 record need justification to qualify as suckitude?

Really, we'll be alright. Dewlee is familiar with our terdishuns and speaks "southern English."

but the blind loyality to an unproven coach who has made his share of mistakes in the first two months is baffling. Much like the posts of f'em we are Tennessee comments. That attitude is much more harmful to our future than those of us who don't believe DD can get it done. Screw the recruits if they don't understand this is Tn then tough sh@#. Lets get some orange blooded TN boys in here that will show these 5 star recruits a thing or two. I mean are you kidding? You guys really think a kid comes to any school because of his love for the school? Maybe 5 to 10%, the others who would kill to play for a school are usually the kids that can't play. Saying BB doesn't have talent, screw him if he doesn't bleed orange, it is just ridiculous. Kids go to a school because they believe in the coaches, they have a chance to play early, they like the offensive or defensive schemes, but immediate love for the school NOT! They may learn to love the school like Wes Brown did but out of high school you guys are smokin stuff.

Wow. Just can't understand why he would go through conditioning and then do this the 1st day of spring practice. Hope Bryce reconsiders and wants to wear the orange and white next fall. But if he does not best of luck to him. We need players that bleed orange and feel it is an honor to run through the T.

Its in the valleys and monumental struggles that our ugliest traits reveal themselves. I can't get the picture of the redbird in the bed of the truck throwing bottles with flaming mattresses and countless carhart clad mobsters out of my head. The reaction to news and rumors alike by many is unbelievable sometimes. What's funny is no one (def not the accused posters) even has an iota of accurate info or any details regarding a given situation. Whatevers going on with BB, it is what it is. I'm not gonna curse a 19 year old regardless of anything he may have done. (Short of harming my family or son) Take a strong dose of reality people, gheez! In no way does this drastically change anything about next year. The only thing certain that will come from this, assuming its true, is our RB depth chart will be - 1. Its a tough stretch we find ourselves in, but 1 thing is for certain; WE WILL PERSERVERE,and WE WILL GET BACK! Stand strong VolNation, We...........Shall...........Overcome..........

A lot of the posters here are supporting Dooley because he is the Head Coach of the Tennessee Football Program right now. I don't what is so outrageous about supporting the coach of your team. You can start hating him when he starts losing games.
